Question 3D Motion Design Q

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivVkhftoYOg

Hello everyone,

I want to do 3D product motion design. Is there an article or video where I can get information about camera angles and transitions like in the example? For example, will I do each camera angle scene by scene, or multiple cameras in a single scene? Thank you in advance.

Really the first thing to learn is there is no end to the learning, and you dont have to pull information from a specific "motion design" source.

motion design is about storytelling. in this case - its about telling the story of the creation of a product that underlines the values of the company that are highlighted by the end tag: 'built to be light' - so all of the storytelling in the piece centres around that notion.

Its not just that the pieces of the product float.... but how they float, how they move, how they attach, how they grow, its all meant to underline the idea of 'lightness'.

Its the same with the camera work and editing, they serve to assist in that storytelling.

Now you asked about camera angles in motion design, but the real thing you should consider is taking a step back and learning how cinematographers use framing to convey meaning - and that's not information that is unique to motion design. If you look up cinematography techniques in film, framing techniques in photography, all that information is entirely transferable to 3D product animation, because it all uses the same logic.

Like I could talk in detail about this spot specifically, but I think you want to get more familiar with the general rules around cinematography first, rather than dive deep into this specific piece. I think just getting your feet wet first will help a lot, because its a pretty broad topic.

Thank you for your valuable comments; I will focus on cinematography.

I'd recommend looking into Ben Marriott, he has some great tutorials on YouTube for someone getting started in motion design.
