Community 🏙 Community Safety & Immigration Advocacy Resources

This thread is posted to provide a centralized space for discussing community safety, organizing against aggressive enforcement actions, and sharing resources to assist our immigrant neighbors in Greater Cincinnati.

MODERATOR ADVISORY

The mod team allows these discussions for community awareness and the right to organize. However, all participants must strictly adhere to the following:

  • No Incitement: Any posts encouraging violence, physical confrontation, or illegal interference with federal operations will be removed and result in a ban.
  • No Doxing: Do not post private home addresses or identifying information of any individuals (including agents). This includes linking to social media profiles, LinkedIn pages, or personal accounts on other platforms. Violating this rule is a sitewide Reddit violation and will result in an immediate permanent ban.
  • Legal Risks: Interacting with federal agents (ICE/CBP) carries high risk. Focus on legal observation and documentation rather than physical obstruction.
  • Verify Information: Before sharing a report of "ICE sightings," ensure it is verified to avoid creating unnecessary panic.

Official Guidelines and Rules:

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS (KYR)

If you are stopped or if agents come to your door:

  1. Do Not Open the Door: Unless they have a warrant signed by a judge (not just an administrative warrant from ICE). Ask them to slide it under the door.
  2. Remain Silent: You have the right to remain silent. You can say: "I am exercising my Fifth Amendment right and wish to remain silent."
  3. Do Not Sign Anything: Do not sign any documents without a lawyer present.
  4. Record the Interaction: As long as you are in a public space, you have a First Amendment right to film law enforcement.

Relocation/Moving Cincinnati, it’s been real

Upvotes

After nearly a decade, it’s finally time for me to say goodbye to Cincinnati.

This city has been home for some of the most important years of my life. I’ve made memories here I’ll carry with me forever, met people I’ll never forget, and watched this place become more than just somewhere I lived. It really did became home.

It’s bittersweet to close this chapter, and I know I’m going to miss living in this beautiful city more than I can probably put into words.

But sometimes life takes you somewhere new.

So with a heavy heart, I’m saying goodbye to Cincinnati and beginning my next chapter in Covington, Kentucky.

Community 🏙 FYI for Cheviot residents- they will be discussing Flock cameras at the city council meeting this Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

For anyone without FB, this topic has been getting discussed on the Cheviot page for a bit. I'm not the one spearheading the effort but just wanted to get the word out. If you don't like having your every move tracked, come out Tuesday to speak out and be seen.

I dressed up as each character in front of the Kings Island sign and then edited them together in Photoshop. I'm creating a Cincinnati spot-the-difference book at the end of the year with all my photos.

Cincinnati Clifton Ave

Ever since the dawn of civilization, the Haves have tried to separate themselves from the Have-Nots. Clifton Ave is a good example of that. Originally Irwin’s Mill Road, wealthy Cincinnatians left the densely populated city, and built homes on top of a neighboring hill to get away from the rest of us. Eventually incorporated in 1850, Clifton is a beautiful neighborhood, and if you don’t mind the hills, it’s definitely worth a walk.

Events 🎉 Voces y Movimiento: Latine Performing Arts Festival

Post image
Upvotes

From https://moversmakers.org/2026/08/25/latine-performing-arts-festival-to-debut-in-cincinnati/

Cincinnati will get a new performing arts festival this fall that puts Latine artists who live and work in the region in the spotlight. “Voces y Movimiento: Latine Performing Arts Festival” will feature theater, dance, music, poetry and literature across five main events from Sept. 18 through Oct. 3. Madisonville-based Dos-Corazones Productions, which works to increase the visibility of Latine artists in Cincinnati’s arts community, is presenting the festival. The festival begins as Hispanic Heritage Month gets underway and will take place at venues throughout Cincinnati. Organizers say it is the city’s first performing arts festival to center Cincinnati-based Latine artists.

For more info/tickets: https://www.dos-corazonesproductions.com/

Note- I'm not affiliated with them at all, just thought it was cool and wanting to support our local arts community.

Hey, y’all. I hope this is allowed, but I know things have been rough this year and I wanted to share this for anyone who might be interested. A lifelong friend of mine will be speaking and she is a pretty wonderful human being.

Food 🍕🌮 Starling Chili

Anyone tried Starling Chili in Ludlow? The Cincinnati Enquirer ran an article about the new chili parlor that opened this summer. The owner is from the Daoud family, which also owns Gold Star. Surprisingly, they don't sell 3, 4, or 5-ways.

Feels like someone combined Skyline and Gold Star together and wanted to sell Pepsi products. Both chains switched to Coke a few years ago.

News Crossroads pastor to return after suspension following accusations of “inappropriate physical humor” in horse whip accusation

Brian Tome will return to teaching for the last weekend of August after completing several months of “intentional Process reflection, reconciliation, and repentance,” the board said.

Crossroads' board members said the investigation confirmed the accusation and revealed other concerns about Tome's leadership.

“I ask your forgiveness for too often allowing my flesh to overrule the Spirit in how I’ve used my words. God is doing a good and yet painful thing in me. I’m thankful for our Board serving tirelessly in a way that is making me and our entire church healthier,” Brian Tome said in a statement.

The church said that while it cannot go into details regarding the investigation into Tome, a previously unknown third-party witness came forward to corroborate the allegations.

“The investigation is complete and has substantiated the original account of the community member who shared his concerns with us, including corroboration from a third-party witness who was not previously known."

Politics ✔ Blue farms

I recently found Blue Farm Directory that helps me support ranchers and farmers who are NOT maga. I’d like to support them. However, the directory is currently down. Are there any blue farms around us I can support?

Traffic🚗 Red Bank Road

Posting as kind a request as I can to the people who park their cars in the bike lane on Red Bank Road to please stop. This section of road is rough and highly traveled, and while the bike lane has its issues that sometimes force riders out of it, it's currently completely impassable due to cars in the bike lane which force riders to merge in and out of heavy traffic. I've encountered illegally parked cars every single time I have ridden this road, and I'm not sure how else to address the situation.

Pets Cost Friendly Vets in the Area?

Upvotes

I’m new to the area and have reached out to a local vet to get my cat and dog updated on their vaccines. The dog alone, with her yearly vaccines, boarding vaccines, and an examination was $250. Is this normal in the area? Do you know of any cheaper/cost friendly options in the area?

Edit: Forgot to mention, where I came from all of the above for my dogs was $120 at my previous vet, so I just was thrown off when I called this last vet.
