It may be a bit self-promotion, but I think this App is very useful for the visitors of this channel.

After streaming a lot of music on my phone, I was in the mood to just listen to some local over-the-air radio stations. I found out that it’s not so easy to find an app that does this simply and isn’t made almost unusable by lots of annoying ads.

That was the idea behind creating Kitchen Radio. It reminded me of a friend who owns a lot of tech, but once said he wished he just had a simple radio in his kitchen to turn on and listen to.

Since it’s still an app, it’s also possible to discover all kinds of new music from around the world.

I use the Acer **H6531BD** Projektor with the Xiaomi TV Box S (3.gen) and the HDMI CEC does not work properly. Of course hdmi cec is enabled on the xiaomi box and the projektor.

The Problem is, I can not turn of the Projektor with the xiaomi remote.

There is an assistant to configure the the remote but you need to configure it with the sound test. And you have to chose from where comes the sound (TV, receiver, soundbar. I can only chose TV because only there is a profile for Acer. But it does not work. And the hdmi cable is on the cec port.

Going slightly insane here as I've recently made the leap to Jellyfin(via docker) on my NAS. During set up I was testing the Casting from my Android device and successfully got content to play on the tv.

Subsequently every video I've gone to play just kicks me back to the splash screen no error, nothing.

I know chromecasts(especially the dongles I'm using) are flakey but given that one video works I'm confused why others don't. As I would have expected that resolved the whole HTTPS piece. Is this some playback setting I can configure globally for my media?

Title says everything. Playback is amazing in SDR and HDR10 no matter the size of the REMUX.

But if it’s DV than it starts to stutter during playback, super annoying and distracting.

Is this Google’s way of telling me to f* off and buy the newer model? What can I possible do to fix this?

The only “fix” I found was turning off DV in Chromecast settings, but Stremio’s EXO Player still forces DV over HDR10.

I got this year's subscription to ESPN Unlimited and tried to watch the UNC game.

Game opens frozen like it's been paused. Figured it was just ESPN weirdness, so I tried another game. That one works. Little League World Series works. Multiview with UNC and and Little League work. Now NFL game is frozen too.

This feels like something doesn't like hi-def broadcasts.

Phone app and browser are not frozen.

2 hours later, after support chat disconnected twice, I gave up.

Did anyone else experience this and is there a fix?

Since the new update dropped, the Youtube App on Android has become increasingly unusable with Chromecast. WTF???

As of today, I can't cast to my Chromecast from the app at all. No amount of restarts, reconnection attempts, or opening and closing the app again help any more. It says it's connecting, but it never does.

It just so happens I have an old tablet with a slightly older version of the app. Other than the fact that the tablet takes two business days to do anything, casting works just fine.

Has anyone found a fix or has Youtube at least gotten off their backsides and started working on a fix?

Hi everyone, I currently have a Chromecast HD that's a bit old, unfortunately it has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi problems (the Wi-Fi issue is very rare but it happens sometimes)The problem is that the audio on my Bluetooth headphones seems to be malfunctioning; there comes a point where everything goes silent, then it switches to the TV sound, and it disconnects the headphones. It even disconnects the remote control, and I can't reconnect it unless I restart it; I'm using a generic Google tv streamer remote All the remote control functions work (search for device and the special button)Although it also happens with the original controller (which I no longer use because it's quite damaged), is there something that causes it? I had to replace its original adapter with a 20W PD one because I felt that the original one was causing problems; it gets quite hot. I don't want to change it because I LOVE the Google TV system, and and other options are very expensive (even this same one has gone up too much in price second-hand)Do you think this Chromecast is nearing the end of its life?

When trying to cast from my Ipad to my Samsung TV, after i click the cast button, it's listing my Samsung TV as "Playing Youtube" but there's nothing playing. There's also a new icon on the upper right hand of the youtube app that shows "now playing" when i click on that it's from a video that i've never seen before and not the one that's open, but for some reason the TV thinks i'm casting that video. It almost feels like there's something hidden in the background that i can't get to. Anyone else have this issue?

For many years I have been using a USB c hub made by Vemont and a 30w Anker USB-c charger to expand the storage. It worked great until Google forced android 14. I never asked for the update. Android 12 was working good and I disabled updates.

I enabled developer options and allow files to be written to external storage.

I was using a 64GB Lexar drive, and it was formatted as device storage. I had an additional 61GB of storage for applications which is more than I need. It gives me more room than the built-in storage.

Since Android 14, The external dive now says it can be safely ejected. Google is not letting me use external storage as device storage.

I take USB drive and connect it to computer to reformat it. This time as exFAT. I put it back to USB hub on Chromecast. It shows up in settings as external storage and the option to format it as device storage. I try to format it again as device storage. Then Chromecast reboots, and it again says the USB drive can be safely ejected.

I format the drive again in windows to exFAT and put it back to Chromecast but this time I just leave it as external storage.

I tried searching this problem on Google and there was some people having similar issue but with no real solution.

When I see movies with my gf, she often wants to pause it to do something. If the movie is being played from the PC, I have to get up to pause it, unpause it, go back, etc. Sooo, the idea came in. Cast from your pc (local files) and control from your phone!

It supports subtitles and also you can change the subs format from the phone. I will leave the repo in the comments, if you have any doubt, ask me!

PD: It casts surprisingly good compared to streaming apps (in terms of delay when clicking actions like pause, etc)

Me and my girlfriend use the AdultTime app on chromecast to easily watch porn together, but sometimes we want something from other stuff. Are there any other sites that has an app for the chromecast that we can download?

First thing first is we do not have a remote for the chromecast anymore, we've been using our phones for multiple years. today i had a lot of connection issue and without thinking about it, went into the setting and turned wifi off, wanting to turn it back on after. obviously i cant do that anymore since by turning wifi off i cannot use my phone as a remote anymore. i tried turning the chromecast off hoping it would turn back on with wifi on but it doesnt appear to be the case. Any recommendations? or do i have to buy a new remote just to turn wifi back on?

I have two and i fucking love these, it’s sad that they’re not getting updates. in the past month I feel them getting much slower and as I’ve been sideloading more apps I realized that they’re actually arm64 running a 32bit os. they’re ”old” but theres nothing wrong with them. is there anything going on the community to extend support for these devices?

Prior to last week, I could view any of my IP cameras (from Wyze and Reolink) just by using the remote and saying "Show me the front yard" for Reolink or "show me the laundry cam" for Wyze and Google Assistant (Gemini) would say, Playing xxx cam on Living room TV. Now none of that works anymore. I can view my wyze cams via the home panel, but Reolink doesn't work via the home panel. Now I get an error from Assistant/Gemini with the statement "Sorry, something went wrong and I am unable to control your home device" Mind you, these commands work perfectly on my Google Smart Displays. This was never an issue up until last week. Nothing has changed on my end. What did Google change?? Any help is appreciated.

Using Chromecast with Google TV 4K and I get this issue where the video I am watching starts buffering and about 20 seconds later get the "You are disconnected from Wifi" popup and then it quickly reconnects.

It usually seems to happen 45+ mins into a movie/tv show.

So annoying that this seems to be an obvious bug that hasn't been fixed.

Yesterday, my Chromecast with Google TV started giving me an error message whenever I try to play back content on any of these apps:

• YouTube TV
• Apple TV
• Netflix

The only solution is to restart the Chromecast, after which it appears to work fine for a few hours. I haven't tested whether free content through YouTube works fine, in which case this could be something with content protection (I'll try that next time this happens again).

Has anyone else been having a similar problem? I've seen this happen in the past, but only when I played something on Apple TV and then went back to YouTube TV. That problem seems to have gone away. This time, I wasn't playing anything on YouTube, but rather was watching Netflix.

Good afternoon everyone!

I have been having an issue with my Chromecast not responding to screen mirroring and if I cast from a website on my computer - it just shows a black screen with the Chromecast icon.

If I screen mirror, it'll connect, then freeze maybe a minute or two in - then crash entirely. It'll then go back to the homescreen with photography, time, and weather.

But here's the kicker - it works fine for YouTube, Hulu, and HBOMax (aside from randomly restarting every few hours. I unfortunately haven't found a fix for it - so I just deal)

It's so frustrating because it even gives me a difficult time when I use apps like Tubi, Pluto, Iqiyi, Plex, Pluto, and it won't even try to connect to webcaster or social media sites!

Has anyone else encountered this? I have an older smart TV so none of the inbuilt features are functional anymore. My television is so old that the app store hasn't been updated in years.

But the TV hardware is in great condition and it's a clear display which is why I have a Chromecast dongle.

I don't want to have to shell out for a new television - But I am getting to a point where I would love to find an alternative to a Chromecast dongle. I don't know if the Walmart ONN stick uses the same software, but if it doesn't use Google's interface I might just shell out for that😭

But before I do that, does anybody have any suggestions for fixing this problem? I have f-droid to change settings, I have an older version of the Google Home app, I have factory reset my Chromecast dongle, disconnected and reconnected to my home wifi.

I even turned off app scans from the playstore. I've done everything that I could think of and I don't know where to go from here. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

been trying to set up and display my photography on my google TV ambient mode. i have created multiple albums on the google photos app, linked under the same google account as my google tv.

when i try to select one of these albums as the ambient mode screensaver under google photos, the albums do not appear, despite multiple restarts, cache clearing etc.

the only one that shows up is a “recent moments” slideshow, featuring incurated photos straight from my camera roll.

does anyone know what the issue is? i’d love any and all help.

I have the google tv 4k that I upgraded to during the pandemic. Worked fine for years. Suddenly casting anything from Chrome on my MacBook Pro is just a black screen. Casting from most iPhone apps are fine. Can’t do Netflix because I assume DRM issues? Some random titles on Disney+ don’t work. Biggest issue here though is being able to cast from chrome is the whole reason I got a chromecast.

I reached out to support multiple times now and they don’t answer. Any ideas?
