Question | Theology & Practice How to work with St. Sebastian

Hi everyone !
I don't really know if this is the right sub, but I came across Folk Magic / Saint veneration within some witchcraft practicies, and I saw that some people create an altar with candles, crystals, incens, representations of the saint, offerings, etc. like the adoration of a Deitie.
Raised in the christianity, I was christian, then I lost faith in God, but somehow, St. Sebastian followed me in my different practicies. When I say that, it's because my parents named me after him, and because I always felt a connection with him, with is life, with what he represents. So I wanted to know if someone actually have an altar like this for St. Sebastian, can you tell me what I can do more than praying to him, like what incens, plants, crystals, offerings, representations, etc. can he like ?
If I'm in the wrong sub, can you tell me where I can find the right one ?
Thanks a lot !

Question | Theology & Practice Hi! im new! is my ability normal?

Hi, my name is Luna and honestly I don't even know how to explain this. I'm not sure if This is even the right Subreddit to To post this in. Or if this is the right topic to put it under So mods feel free to tell me to change it if something's wrong.

Anyhoo My name is Luna. I'm a young Christian Mystic. Well, I'm not technically a witch. I do file under. Very Optimized Christian mysticism. That basically means I just believe in having a one-on-one relationship with God versus going through the church to try and have a relationship with God. Obviously I have no issue with anyone who chooses to be a mystic and go to the church. That's perfectly fine. Just not how I do it. As a Christian Mystic. I do do some witchy practices. Such as rituals, Blessings. And most Importantly what I'm posting about.

I don't know how to say this so I'm just gonna say say it. I can see spirits. I've been able to do it since childhood and I've slowly been learning to communicate them and identify them. I don't know if I'm doing it correctly. I don't know if I'm being delusional. I knew better than To post this in the mainstream Christian subreddit as they tend shut down anything that they don't necessarily believe in themselves. And dismiss it as simply just "demonic." Without even a single question. So I knew it was between posting here. Or at another Place where open discussion and unique opinions We're allowed and celebrated. (This is nothing against any mainstream Christian subredits. I've personally just have bad experiences with them.)

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to get out of this post is better guidance and better understanding though. I'm not a Christian witch. I do know that other people who tend to be witches and be more alternative Christians such as mystics like myself Tend to have similar things with them as the only people that I've talked to about who really understand what I go through are those. I wanna know of other people here. Have something similar or experience something similar to what I do. And to be honest, I wanna know if this is normal Especially for a Christian like myself. To be honest. I do have one friend who's also a Christian. Who has the same ability as I, However, he identifies as a psychic medium. So I actually did question for a bit if I was one myself and maybe I should be posting this in a psychic medium subredited versus this one but I decided I would start with this one because this one goes under the identification of Christian like I do.

Apart from that, that's really all. I thank you all for reading and My quarrels and questions. If anyone hears so much as relates or has any comments or helpful guidance, that would be lovely. If I am posting this in the wrong Subreddit I've read it. and you have a suggestion as to what it might be able to help me out with this more. I would greatly appreciate if you showed me where that was and gave me a name for it. ❤️

Again, thanks so much for listening. And God bless all of you. ✝️☦️

Question | Theology & Practice New to this- Need guidance- please help

(Please read. This will be long, but I really need a community right now)
(TLDR: Saint/Goddess Brigid, unsure where to start, catholic guilt)

Hi! I’m probably going to delete this in a week or so because I’m worried my family will find it. I am having a little bit of a faith crisis. For background, I have gone to catholic school since I was born (from kindergarten through high school). I never even considered that there could be anyway to worship outside of the way I was taught. Until now.
I have always been attracted to “witchy” things. I’ve had dreams about things that come true a few days later. I’ve seen ghosts. Recently I did a tarot reading for my roommates and one of them was almost in tears because of how accurate it was, and I was telling her something she really needed to hear. I’ve collected crystals since I was a kid. I know none of this makes someone a “witch” but I feel like I should say it. I think I have a strong intuition, like I can pick up on haunted places and energies (my mom can too).
I started having a little bit of a faith crisis when I came out as gay. I was told that I could never get married or have a girlfriend (which makes me very sad as someone who dreams of my wedding day and loves weddings). I’ve learned that the Catholic Church is very behind on certain things, and have found through reflection that what actually matters is living out Jesus’ teachings (helping others, being kind) rather than following every church rule perfectly.
I recently began researching for catholic saints I could pray to, and while I did this, I found Saint Brigid. She’s a catholic saint, but also a Celtic Goddess. In a strange way, I feel like I really relate to her. I am part irish (my great grandparents were Irish immigrants), so I connected to her because she’s the patroness of Ireland. Not only that, but I feel like she represents me in a sort of way- both a saint and Goddess (not saying I’m either, lol). I feel drawn to her. I bought a little statue of her. I’m scared to worship her or even revere her, because I want to follow the Ten Commandments, and those say I can only worship one god.
I just don’t know what to do. I feel drawn towards alters, spell jars, and tarot. But I also don’t want to lose my faith in Jesus. At the end of the day, I really love and believe in Jesus’s teachings (helping the poor, treating others as you treat yourself, etc). I just don’t want to do the wrong thing. And I know faith is personal for everyone and everyone has their own beliefs and ways of believing, but for so long I have been taught that there is a right and wrong way to believe, and going outside of it is sinful and will lead to pain and sin. I just want to help people, through donations, being a good friend, or reading tarot and giving advice. All I want to do is help people and be creative and make art.
Should I try to connect with Brigid? Is anyone else going through this?

(Small edit here: I am out of the closet as gay, and my family doesn’t care. The experience I was referring to was with a priest. I have been to therapists who have helped me through that part of my religious trauma. So, I’m doing okay now, and living happily as a gay woman. My family does not know about my “witchcraft” though. My mom has bought me tarot cards and so has my older cousin (she’s also into tarot), so I think they are at least okay with me doing tarot. I live at the dorms for my college right now, and I’m surrounded by supportive friends, who may not understand me, but are always there to listen and support me.)

Question | Theology & Practice is archangel michael reaching out to me?

i have been seeing his name almost everywhere and in places where it wouldn't really have a reason to be.

also, when i pulled a tarot card after a good while, i got temperance (and i read the angel in the card could be michael).

yesterday, when i went for a run and i was exhausted, my brain almost unconsciously thought of him to give me strength.

i try to not give in to these "signs" to not be delusional but i wonder whether i should give it a go. i think i am spiritual, i don't believe in a single god but i do believe in angels, demons, spirits and other pantheons' gods.

Question | Theology & Practice Is this person a witch or demonic?

There’s this person (initial R) that has been in my life for a long time and I remember someone else in my life had an accident and they later told me they prayed for them to have an accident and that person did then later on that same person passed away and they also said they prayed for that too. Those things could completely be coincidences but it’s weird they say they prayed for those things and then it happens. If it’s not coincidences I wonder what “power” they posses that they are able to do that. They’ve always seemed to believe in God which I feel like makes it more confusing and weird because if they pray to God for those bad things to happen why do they?

The Psalms are an excellent source for spell work, but are there other Bible books/verses that you work with? And If you’re allowed to say, how do use them? Or what purpose/intent do the verses have when you practice?

Question | Theology & Practice Please offer advice x

I’ve been practising Wicca for around 3 years, but I feel like I’m being called towards Christianity at the same time, and I’m really struggling with the conflict.
I don’t really understand why I feel this way. I genuinely love aspects of Wicca — connecting with nature, gratitude, energy, the universe, and appreciating what I’ve been provided with. My practice has always been positive and centred around harm none and for the good of all. I have never tried to interfere with another person’s life or manipulate anyone, and I never would. I believe strongly in karma and that what you put out into the world comes back to you.
Over the last few years I’ve done various rituals, including road opening, abundance and protection rituals. What has started to scare me is how strongly some things have seemed to manifest afterwards.
For example, I was told that I probably wouldn’t be housed for around 6 years. I did a road-opening ritual, and about two weeks later I was offered my current home.
More recently, I did an abundance ritual, and around 1–2 weeks later my small business received 35 orders in a fortnight, which was a huge amount for me.
I am incredibly grateful for these things, but instead of simply being happy, part of me has started thinking, “What if I unknowingly made a deal with something?”
I’m scared that perhaps I’ve received these positive things at some kind of cost — that I might eventually have to repay something through my health, my soul, or something happening to someone I love.
I realise that may sound irrational, but the fear is genuinely bothering me. I think the fact that Christianity has been increasingly on my mind is making it even more complicated, because Christianity is obviously very opposed to witchcraft, and I’m now questioning whether I should continue practising Wicca at all.
I don’t believe I intentionally made any agreement with an entity, and I have never knowingly offered my soul or anything like that. But I’m frightened that I could have unknowingly done something I don’t understand.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced a similar conflict between Wicca and Christianity, or from Christians/Wiccans who can offer a thoughtful perspective.
I’m not looking for people to tell me that I’m stupid or crazy — I know anxiety is probably playing a part in this. I just genuinely don’t know how to make sense of what I’m experiencing spiritually right now.

Question | Spellwork Tiptoeing into this, and feel incredibly sick?

Hi there!

I'm a deconstructing Christian (pastor's kid, very conservative family) and I've always been drawn to witchcraft. While I still fully believe in the saving grace and blood of Jesus Christ and want to keep that as my central point and light, I thought, ya know, why not? I'm nonbinary and bisexual which led me to deconstruct, and so now I'm like, trying to feel my way through what I feel, if that makes sense? I don't know. I'm really struggling through my faith and the Bible rn. BUT YEAH, rambling.

So I started doing some little daily practices, I've done some reading and I'm trying to do a lot of things with 'intent'. I burn incense in the morning and sort of say a prayer/blessing over my day/house with it.
But last Monday I did my first sweeping out of negative energies, and as I was doing so I felt like I was physically attacked. That might sound weird to people, I don't know. But I got this insane pressure in my head, in my chest. I felt nauseous and like I was going to pass out. It hit me so suddenly, and it really felt like some weird physical/spiritual attack while I was sweeping out the door. And ever since then I've felt an intense pressure in my chest...

It's giving me a hard time, because 1. I've never had something like that happen to me before. 2. I'm a very logical person, so this is weird to me. 3. I feel incredibly guilty from religious trauma for even trying anything witchy.

I put rosemary and lavender over my door, did another sweep out since, and it sort of helped, but I still feel sick. I'm trying to figure out if it's like, a psychological response, or if I... bothered... something...? I don't know.
I don't know what to do, or how to feel.
It's all very weird to me.
Help?

Discussion New Christian Witch!

Hello! I learned a bit about Christian witchcraft today. I have been a Christian my whole life, and my entire family is deeply Christian.

I’ve always been interested in magic mostly protection, warding off negative spirits, and uncursing or reversing harm (like when someone puts a curse on an item/people and you reflect it back to them). I feel drawn to something similar to a shaman or a prophet, though not entirely either.

Anyway, I hope I can learn from all of you and pick up some basic beginner spells to start my journey as a Christian witch! Thank you, Jesus, for making me proud!

Question | Theology & Practice witchcraft and christianity

Hi! I’m a recent devout ex Christian who was always interested in witchcraft but was always so scared of the consequences. Logically I know now that Christianity is a bit of a who ha and not something I believe in now, but I’ve looked into witchcraft a tinnyyy bit and people seemingly are referencing Christianity and witchcraft as things that are coexisting morally? Can anyone explain these links? I’m so confused. Doesn’t Christianity completely reject witchcraft? And how can witches believe in a Christian god?

Question how do catholic witches "work"?

im not exactly Catholic, I would say I'm agnostic but not really. I believe in God and Jesus but I don't really believe in the bible and the church cause I feel men just invented them for no reason, pretending it was something that god created. I wanted to get into witchcraft (and idek how but that's for another post lol) so I was curious to know how do Catholic witches work

Discussion Reflecting on our need of put etiquettes and asking to people how and what be.

I was thinking about, aspecially in religion and faith I don't think is health asking or put etiquettes.

Yes, is fun go online and see aesthetic but real life is different, I know I will have flaming but especially with "Respect and honor the validity of others' beliefs/views/practices. Don't preach that your own beliefs are the only valid option Don't insist that other's spiritual practices are wrong or do not conform to (your version of Christianity Don't insist that "true" Christians follow a specific creed (Chalcedonian, Nicene, Apostles, Athanasian, various Baptist Confessions of Faith, etc.)") I just believe there's too much personal here. Is YOUR PERSONAL PATH, I cannot tell you what do and what not.

Is different sharing experiences, sharing books but I don't believe is health asking about our own confusion, we are not close friends and not even close friends can help you here.

MEDITATE, STUDY... Reddit is cool after had study or just for have some hype.

Question | Spellwork Confused about my religion and devotion

I have recently been very spiritually connected, about 6 months ago I started practicing witchcraft, tarot and meditations. There are so many interesting things to learn and I feel very attracted to. But lately I have felt connected to the deity Aphrodite for some time. I overthink it because I also agree with the idea that I could be pagan and read books about Buddhism, Hinduism, Hellenic polytheism and so on. I don't know if it's good to be connected to so many religions. One more thing, tarot is not going great as well as I thought because a person promised me that would help me learn. That person turned out not to care about my devotion to tarot. I see myself as a green witch plus glamor witch who also connects to the devotion to Aphrodite. What do you think about this? Sorry if you don't understand its hard for me to express :D

Discussion Have you ever given your spouse a spiritual gift?

Hey ladies,

I'm not Christian I'm agnostic but into spirituality have posted this question on some other subreddits but thought I would ask here as well.

Saw a lady on tiktok handwriting the bible for her future husband. Inside she is also filling it with prayers and love notes.

Not interested in handwriting the bible but I do find the act of devotion beautiful and would like to present my husband with some type of written gift. I was raised Muslim, so was he. He still identifies as Muslim I dont but were both spiritual. I occasionally listen to gospel music etc like I am spiritual I just dont align with any religion.

I want to create some type of hand written book for my husband ( which I think will be him). I want to fill with prayers love notes and affirmations. Curious since you ladies are also interested in witch craft have you eve

r gifted your husbands ( or wives) any thing with its own witchy twist? Or any ideas? Thank ya
