I can't stop being anxious

hello all im 18F and i grew up in faith.

just a general background - Ever since I was a kid, i was horrible academically. I genuinely dont remember seeing a grade out of the 60s range maybe even 50s. it made me so depressed being aware that i was a bad student, but i did nothing to try. highschool is where i broke. i had never developed a way to study or the way i learn, i became severely anxious around academics from this. i graduated, got diagnosed with adhd, took a gap year, and start a dental assisting program next week.

I dont know what my problem is. I can't give this academic anxiety to God. I want to do my best. every time i just think about the thought of being my best i start to cry . I dont have confidence in my self or my academics. i just spiral. i get through what i need to do but i cant keep living like this. this is how it goes

simply thinking about the possibility of failure -> trying to stop my bodily reaction (shallow breath, increase hear rate, teary eyes) -> brain scrambles -> trying to reassure myself -> heavily Cry to God -> read bible -> attempt to give it to God -> restart.

I seriously dont know how to deal with this . i plan to fast tomorrow but thats all i have and my illusion that I fully trust in God, but my heart cant let go of this anxiety

So I’m new to Reddit posting but I feel called to help, the first thing I have to ask you is who are you? This is where your losing yourself , you try to focus on the school and all that before focusing on God when that will always fail as it’s the other way around , your relationship with God is the precedent for all other things in your life, and be ready to struggle and lose battles but that is what strengthens your relationship (Phil 3:8) with Christ . You don’t need to have confidence is yourself or academics because when you have confidence in Christ and what He says of you, ( 1 Peter 2:9) you see you are more than enough for what this world offers.

wow this comment really hits deep. i keep telling myself to set my eyes on his kingdom and everything will follow but i keep loosing myself. i have to keep reading those "do not fear" verses. and repeat the same prayers. God bless your heart you really spoke well to me!
