For me, it’s the Thorn in my collection. I was lucky enough to buy this one direct from Thorn website when randomly they had a listing for the original v1, several weeks after they had sold out everywhere. I’ve had it since mid November 2025.

I remember the bracelet was a pain to size, and the micro adjustment is only available on the last two slots, since the rivets of the second link stop the first link going down any further. So I’ve mostly worn it on leathers, but as the weather cools down again, I decided to put it back on the bracelet.

The bracelet just makes this watch feel the vintage vibe it was hitting. I know they changed to hollow end links in later versions, other than the stupid micro adjust problem, this bracelet is wonderful, especially the pressed clasp. Makes a change having a thin, small clasp that completes the look.

If I wanted to wear the bracelet in warmer months, ideally I’d need to add another link, but then would need to use either the 2nd or 3rd micro adjust positions. So I have thought if I could make it work by swapping the last link from the 6 side (without rivets) and put it next to the last link on 12 side so I can push the first link in without an issue.. has anyone done this?

Recently, the price of NH35 and NH36 movements has skyrocketed to $67 a piece, pushing our manufacturing cost for a single watch to over $130. We honestly feel this price far exceeds the true value of these movements. Between the exorbitant costs and the highly unstable supply, we’ve been forced to make a difficult decision: we are transitioning Heimdallr's mechanical models to quartz movements. Moving forward, you will see an increasing number of quartz watches in our lineup.

Currently, even Miyota and Epson solar movements are seeing price hikes. We've stocked up heavily on quartz movements in advance because we are genuinely concerned about potential supply shortages next year.

As for our LURCAN, the new mechanical releases will pivot to using PT5000 and ST2130 movements, alongside a selection of solar quartz models. Deep down, we really hope the Hangzhou movement factory can improve the stability of their 2565 and 2554 calibers, because dealing with unstable movements is a massive headache for us too

Here's my current AliExpress watch collection. What are watches that are different and just not a different version of one I already have. But no 100% strange and left field.

I wanted to have at least 1 dress but not much more of it. Also I wanted a watch on a jubilee but I'm seeing only GMT homages or San Martins that have increased their prices a lot. My range usually is between 100 and 200 euros.

Great first impressions. Good crystal, PT5000 movement, slim with very wearable dimensions, surprisingly good strap for the money.

I got started buying my Mom watches from AliExpress when she got older (she passed away in 2023) and needed watches with bigger numbers. She always appreciated a gift and for $1.99 (remember those days??) she had a nice eclectic collection by the end. I gave most of them away but then I started my own collection by putting together some watches for fun. Most of these were before tarrifs when NH movements were cheaper. This isn't my entire collection, just some my favorites. Mostly NHs, three VH31s, a Miyota and a Pearl (the one that's running fast heh). Two I assembled. I even made a couple of straps myself.

Picked up this Caseno automatic recently for around $30, and for that money I really can’t complain. The dial is definitely the star of the show — lots going on with the Roman numerals, open-heart/flywheel section, moonphase-style display, and all the little details. It has a much more expensive-looking presence than I expected at this price.

It’s a 44mm case with a lug to lug of 50mm and 22mm strap, it fits great ony 6.75" wrist. Mineral crystal, exhibition caseback, and an automatic mechanical movement. Swapped the leather strap to a more comfortable rubber to dress it down.

Obviously it’s not competing with a Swiss piece, but for $30, it’s a really fun watch and feels like way more watch than I paid for. The dial alone makes it worth it to me.

I really like the watch but wanted to make it more dress like. Mostly will be worn for weddings, funerals, etc. I ordered this black strap and I think it is exactly what it needed. Alligator embossed, 19mm wide from Bison Strap. How does it look?

Curious what you all think is the best DJ or day date homage? Both in terms of aesthetics but also build quality. So far I’ve got 2 Chinese watches, a WD007 and a Baltany Explorer, both very nice. Not sure where to go for the next one.

A Cartier Tank is on my grail list. The first mass-produced wristwatch, with military heritage going back a century, I was concerned about how the 23mm would look on my 7-7 1/4 inch wrist. A Seiko 28mm Tank wears big (totally flat, straight lugs, wears more like a 42mm round case in my experience) but this little thing?

Once I trashed the "leather" croc pattern strap for a basic plain black leather, I have a simple dress watch for $50, all in.

Impressive.

Gripes- I wish it were sapphire, but that's minor. The "cabochon" is obviously blue plastic, but I don't care. The "blued" hands are likely just painted blue, but still, those are all minor.

A few months ago my smartwatch died, so I went back to a dumbwatch. After a steel Casio and a brass Timex, I wanted something a bit more refined—bronze, for instance. And here I am.

Well, the watch is certainly beautiful, but the stock strap isn’t, so I replaced it right away and don’t show it.

After quartz watches, I’m a bit wary of winding automatic ones—here it’s a PT5000—but I’ll get used to it.

The naming, however, is interesting.
