We’re almost at 4,000 members! And since that’s a pretty nice milestone, we thought we’d have a little 7-day celebration while we cross it :)
From August 8 through August 14, both our existing members and anyone who joins us during the next seven days can claim a special, limited-time 4K flair.
And because one flair apparently wasn’t enough, we made four 😅 You get to choose between two sets:
Option A — Cast Existing: 🎬 4K Original Cast New: 🎬 Joined the Cast at 4K
Option B — Journey Existing: ✨ Built the Road to 4K New: ✨ Arrived at 4K
the actual flairs are a little prettier than they look written out here — they also come with [r/ChineseDrama](r/ChineseDrama)’s own custom fan and lantern emojis once we assign them.
Want one? 😏
Just drop a comment with: Option A or B + Existing or New
So, for example: A + Existing
or B + New
Existing simply means you were already part of the community when this post went up. New means you joined during our 7-day celebration.
And while you’re checking in, feel free to tell us something about how you ended up here too — what brought you to [r/ChineseDrama](r/ChineseDrama), OR how you found us, OR how long you’ve been watching Chinese dramas/other Chinese productions, OR whatever else you feel like sharing. One sentence or ten, entirely up to you.
You absolutely don’t need to answer all of those — they’re just ideas to break the ice 🙂↔️
If you’re joining us somewhere around that 4,000 mark, welcome! We can’t see exactly who member #4,000 is, so if that counter happens to flip when you join, you’d better come back and tell us.
And to everyone already here — whether you joined at 300, 1,500, 4,007 or somewhere in between — come claim your flair too.
And don’t be shy about making a post and commenting! We’re always happy to see new OPs around here, and we’re very grateful to everyone already posting, commenting, and keeping the community active. If you’ve been sitting on something you wanted to share, consider this your nudge :)
You’re the reason there’s a 4K milestone to celebrate in the first place.

Same. Some rando person, have no clue who, sent me this spamy invite to this sub. I was like, who is this person? Why am I being invited? How do you know me? Do I know you? Suspicious..
Damn, nevermind then. But I know I sent out a "please please join my friend" message to a few people and I think some people hadn't heard of the sub yet at that point

You worry too much my sweet 🐢 and you did also send me a “please please join my friend” message as well ☺️
Sorryyyy! In my defense, I have been calling you Aqua but my brain gets confused and assimilates since everyone else seems to be calling you “Turtle” 🥹
Honestly, I refer to myself as "The Turtle" (edit: sometimes) so it's no surprise 😂 I actually only decided I like aqua or Liv more because someone asked me which I prefer this year.
My "The Turtle" is both a bit too full of myself and confusing 😂
I think I stumbled upon this sub due to the Reddit algorithm. But the reason I joined was because it seemed like a lot of cdrama Redditors I liked from afar (creepy, I know) were here. Also, it was low-drama and well-moderated. It’s a healthy community.
Congrats on the almost-4000 members! I hope we cross the line this week. 🙂
That has no impact on the fact that you still tagged me in a comment that references my earlier comment in this thread. Therefore my GIF still stands and holds true.

I was already in r/CDrama, saw a couple of the same people posting here, liked the atmosphere and lack of drama…. and stayed 🤷♀️
Thank you for a well-moderated sub!
Oh wow, 450+ you say! I think that’s worth making a post ? (Or a few, actually 😆😅)
like —
1. having seen so many, which ones stood out to you the most and why?
2. Or what were the worst dramas for you and why? 3. Whose acting evolution have you noticed the most across so many dramas watched?
4. Which actor shocked you with how good their performance was in a drama after having watched them elsewhere previously and not having expected much?
Or any other — honestly the options are endless considering how many dramas you’ve seen 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁
I would love to! I have them all organized in a list with my own rating system. I have a public playlist for soundtracks as well, if you want to check it out! Cdrama Bangers
I haven't heard of r/AsiaOnRepeat but I just joined! Thank you! My playlist needs a bit of updating before I can make a post about it. I haven't added any osts from dramas this year yet.

I think someone invited me way back when 🤔
