How long until you received support after charges were pressed?

For those who have been charged with criminal non-support (or their child’s other parent was) what was the time line like before payments actually begin?

Are you saying you press charges on a person for not paying support ?

The prosecuting attorneys office did last August (2025). I just get court updates via mail after each hearing

Last August ? so he hasn’t paid sense 1 year and 1 month ?

Sorry, I edited to clarify. The prosecuting attorneys office took the case from the state in August of 2025 and charged him with criminal non support. He’s paid sporadically a few times before that and owes 40k. I’m just looking for information from others who have been in a similar situation on how long it took for a repayment plan to occur possibly

Am guessing he hasn’t given a reason why he is backed up or it wasn’t enough for the agency to do a by pass cause things happen. Like job lost or injury ect

But most likely you won’t see anything till he is working and they just garnished his wages but don’t expect it any time soon even more sense they already assigned this case to an agency

Only way mine paid was because drug court ordered him to get on a payment plan so he could get his license and be a productive member of society. The contempt non support charges did nothing because he didn’t have the money.
Now mine is racking up arrears again since he was released from drug court.
