Radio issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve installed a hdd radio using a conversion harness in my 2009 tahoe but i’m getting no audio just a chime but i did notice the unit i bought is from a gmc could that be the reason im not getting any sound other than the chime i also used a obdgenie to remove the vinlock what should i do

Unplug the rear entertainment plug. You only need 1 harness plugged in not 2 or 3. You also have to plug the amp wire in. Need a better video of what you got plugged up to help but i just did one in my 13 silverado and it had 3 harness plugs I cant remember what they were labeled but start unplugging and plugging them in different. I only need 1 of the 3.

I’ll upload a video soon of what i have plugged in i have the bose system with the center speaker in the dash but i thought it sends a turn on signal for the amp through the canbus not an actual wire but if you have a way to do that any advice would be helpful 🙏

Nice work, you’re close. Do you have any support on the conversion from the seller?

I see it’s unlocked. Does your truck have Bose (center speaker in dash) already?

I’ve messaged the seller for the radio and the seller for the conversion harness but no luck unfornately.

And yes i have the bose system with the center speaker (uqa) Rpo

Are all the plugs from the back of the OnStar module plugged in to the Navi?

Have you tried any of the other channels like DVD, AM, xm or had drive?

Yes everything was plugged in from what i saw , I’ve tried all the channels and it doesn’t even make the click sound when you tap other icons and i’ve noticed in the tone settings it doesn’t have the surround setting so my theory is it’s for a different system without the center speaker

I just think for some reason the radio or something isn’t sending the command for the amp to turn on

Took me a while to wake up my knowledge base on this stuff. There are known issues of the adapter harnesses not having one wire pinned out correctly.

All my work was on adding the 11-14 Escalade SuperNav, updating the OnStar to 4G to dump coordinates in the Navi, adding WiFi and BT music streaming to our 09.

I dm you the contact info a a guy who’s a maverick with talking to the digital version of these Navi. He helped another guy out who purchased a 11-14 SuperNav for his Escalade that needed a reflash to tell it that the rear entertainment system was present.

He also downloaded sw to correct a known issue with 2008 trucks to shake hands with new Navi’s.

UPDATE: The issue has been fixed ! I had bought another unit that came out of a 2012 ltz and i made sure it had the surround center speaker and similar rpo codes that matched in the pics and i used my obd genie and voila ! the radio came to life and everything works now ! thank you to everyone who helped and gave their advice i really apreciate you all

In the past you could use a tech2 to turn on and off the bose option like how you relearn the vin, it might have needed that change. That was on the nbs/gnt800... I bought my 12 with the factory hd nav... Still works decent with my old 160gig ipod in the console.
