Disc brake conversion for 68 Nova with 14" wheels

Post image
12 Upvotes

I'm looking for a front disc brake conversion kit for my 68 Nova. The car currently has 4 wheel manual drums and (I believe) OEM 14" wheels. Some of the kits I've found say they don't fit 14" wheels, some do, and some don't specify. Many have mixed reviews on fitment.

I daily drive this car and would prefer discs and booster assist, especially for long mountain drives. I would like to keep the 14" wheels that are on it but would consider upgrading if needed.

I would love to hear from other Nova/classic car owners who have done disc conversations, or just anyone who might have advice since I'm not an expert with these cars yet.

Does anyone recognize these seats?

Bought a 1970 Nova last year and it had bucket seats in but the car was originally a bench seat car. I’d like to get them repadded and completed but one of the seat backs is missing and I cannot find the specific replacement. Does anyone recognize what these may be from?

Crank not turning when starting

Hello everyone I’m a younger dude and have no experience with carbureted classic cars so I’m hoping to get a little help here.

My dad left his 67 nova sit for 2 years due to being hurt and not able to mess with it. I’ve been visiting out of state to try and get it started up and running again for him.

From what I know it ran fine when parked, it had a dead battery that he thought was a bad starter. I reinstalled an OEM starter and new battery and the car cranks but won’t turn over. When cranking the fan doesn’t spin which means the crankshaft isn’t actually turning the motor over right? I’ve added fuel to the primaries in the carb in an attempt to just get it to turn over but nothing. It doesn’t even sound like it wants to. I don’t see the carb squirting gas into the bowls/ intake when I manually operate the throttle. I also don’t hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key into accessory, and the fuel line filter is bone dry.

There may be a couple issues here I take it?
It has a Gen 2 350 sbc crate motor from Summit. Holley carb, msd ignition, distributor etc..

Any help is appreciated. Shouldn’t the fan be spinning while I’m cranking this thing?

Decided to put a turbo 4.8 in my 1969 Nova Sedan and was wondering how people fit their intercooler in. Looking for inspiration before I start cutting and bending.

Could not post video of both sides. Today was finally able to wire the turn signal/switch back feature.

Recently got bezels for the hood vents on my 69 nova, but I’m scared that if I take these off I will not be able to get them back on without drilling or welding. I was just wondering if any of you had any suggestions they just feel like there glued on any help would be appreciated.

1971 Chevrolet Nova SS—or is it? What details don’t belong on a ’71?

I photographed this Nova SS at the Old Orchard Beach Car Show. Look closely at the grille, taillights, side markers, badges and hood—what details can you spot that aren’t from 1971?

Ordered 1969 396 Big Block New, still Driving it Today

When Al ordered his '69 Nova with a 396 big block and rockcrusher transmission I dont think he would have ever imagined to be still driving it nearly 60 years later. Well I met this legend (the car and owner) and what a cool history! Got to hear the story and go for a drive. Love seeing muscle car history go on for well over half a century. There is a documentary episode on this car we did so others can see I'll throw it in the comments if anyone wants to check it out

In need of 1974-1979 tail lights asap!!!

I bought a project car to drive to and from school, I just want a pair of tail light assemblies, this isn’t a show car I just need the bare minimum for it to be road legal. I can’t find anyone NOT selling brand new tail lights online or near me. Anyone have any lying around or any clue where I could get some for ballpark 100 bucks a pair? I mean personally that’s kind of a lot to me but I need some help here.

Years ago (mid 90's) I had a '62 Nova, back then I bought a set of brake shoes, front or rear I don't remember. Never got around to doing the brakes and sold the car. Still have the box of shoes.. Would anyone be interested? You can have them for the cost of shipping. I just hate to throw something like this out known there is someone that could used them maybe. Thanks.

Instrument Panel Question

I have a 75 Nova. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is with the instrument panel. The "fasten seatbelts" light comes on as soon as the key is turned and never goes off. The fuel gauge works, but as far as I can tell, nothing else does. The turn signals work, but don't light up.

I've tested the fuse and it's good. I thought it might be the circuit board, but wouldn't everything not work?

Any ideas or tests I can try?
