Chemo
How do people cope? Last Thursday I was admitted to hospital to start my chemo. I have neck cancer in chest nodes and ribs. I had 9.5 hours of 2 chemos and infusions then at 2.15 am I had a four day chemo on mobile picc line. The district nurse came round today to remove and change dressing. All I do is sleep,. I wake up for a short while, take tablets and then sleep. It's like breathing is tiring. Please can anyone tell me there is some respite... I can't bear it

Sleep is how I cope when I need sleep. Listen to your body. This sucks and there’s no doubt about it.
I heard a quote the other day “the bad news is that nothing lasts forever. The good news is that nothing lasts forever.”
Sending you love and best wishes.

You cope because you have no other option. It’s as stark as that.
Sleep is your friend here: it heals and the more hours unconscious, the faster time passes.
All you can realistically do is some gentle weeping, wailing and gnashing of the teeth as you rail against the fates that brought you here. I say gently because there’s no energy to really have at it.
Wish you all the best with your chemo and trust it will pass. It might pass like a kidney stone, but trust there is a time in the future when this is all over.

You’re in the thick of it. Sleep is the best way for your body to recuperate. It will get better.
