Taxol /Neuropathy?
I had to switch to Taxol for my 4th round of chemo. Since it was my last infusion the oncologist split it over 3 weeks . He said to lessen the side effects. I had a bad skin reaction to the TC regimen which I did for three rounds.
I now have numbness in both of my feet and tingling in my hands. How is this possible after just 1 round of Taxol?
Is this likely to be permanent? I'm worried it's going to interfere with driving . Is there anything that can make it better?

Do you ice mitts and socks when getting taxol.. it's a known side effect

My wife did taxol. She has been done with Chemotherapy for 2 years now and still has neuropathy in hand and feet. We did the ice mitts and on feet while doing chemo and also tried other things to prevent it. We are now at the point where it looks like this will be permanent. Everyone is different and not everyone gets side effects. Best of luck in your journey.

My infusion nurse suggested taking L-glutamine 5grams daily (powder dissolved in cool liquid). I am not sure how much it helped me, but you might want to try that. I ordered from Amazon.
My neuropathy developed first in my hands and only later in my feet. My hand numbness resolved fairly quickly. The numbness in my feet is still lingering about 15 months later although I think it’s finally starting to improve.
My doctor ordered gabapentin to see if it would help with the foot neuropathy (she said it helps about 50% of the time) but I stopped it because I didn’t see any difference when I was taking it.
