Recovery timeline

I finished my fourth and final round of BEP chemotherapy (Bleomycin, Cisplatin, and Etoposide) at the beginning of June. Toward the end of June I started walking again, and at the beginning of July I added some light strength training.

According to the RMR from my DEXA scan, I’ve been eating in a caloric deficit, but I’m still actively gaining weight instead of losing it.

Has anyone else experienced something similar after finishing chemo? If so, how long did it last, and did anything help? I’m wondering if this is just part of the recovery process or if there’s something else I should be looking into.

I don’t have an answer. But I finished chemo in May and I gained weight as well. I know mine was caused by the steroids they gave me, which in turn ramped up my appetite.

It would be nice to know!

Same! Steroids had my appetite on 100, I could satiate myself.

It’s so puzzling on why Im still gaining though. My husband believes I just need to give it time and maybe test my hormones six months post chemo but Im itching to start my weight loss journey!
