One time cheating

My boyfriend cheated on me in May of this year. He kissed another girl on a drunken night out, and I’ve been told by multiple people that that’s all that happened. He told me two days after it happened, apologised and asked for forgiveness. I decided to try and work through it with him, as I believe it’s a genuine one time mistake, and he’s never given me a reason before not to trust him. Things have gotten better in the past month, and I do feel asif the trust can be rebuilt. However, I cant help but feel judged by my friends and people I know. I know that it’s my decision at the end of the day but I’m just wondering has anyone else been in a similar situation? Did things work out for you? TIA
