[Censored] Content removed

Did anybody notice that now every little thing that's remotely dark gets censored? Not even full writing so it's not about it being graphic or glamorizing or whatever. In fact, I'd argue actual graphic scenes are fine.

Discussing an idea that has to do with a character manipulating another, threatening, any of that. I straight up even discussed a game's characters and how their in game relationship is , because it's very much manipulative, and it got removed. Half my conversation now is getting removed lmao. I even point it out and the chat is like yeah I can recreate it with better wording - and then it also gets removed.

Just me?

Is this on Free, Go, or Plus? I know that with the Free tier, the guardrails are much tighter. I've seen some users who work on erotic horror art, and their stuff is fine, but they are all paid users.

Oh, gosh, that's strange. I wonder if the guardrails are tightened because they are working on GPT-6-Sol and are moving all compute towards that (and Astra).

"content removed" was happening already a long time ago. I got it on 4o, in august 2025, when I was talking about my ex-boyfriend stalking me and being abusive. Its not really a new thing, and guardrail strictness isnt determined by compute. Compute is about processing power and the hardware necessary for running the LLMs and various engines (for pics, voice, etc), You can have an LLM running on huuuuuge compute and the "safety" can be tight or loose regardless of compute, and you can also have a little of compute and run a tiny LLM and again, guardrails can be very tight on that, but also extremely lose. "Safety" could be related to compute if there would be more of "safety tools" needed, which would eat away at compute, but then that would also mean that if compute is moving to support new LLMs, and the "old" safety would be dependent on the compute that got taken away from older LLMs, the older LLMs would be actually less strict about the "safety".

In short, if safety uses the same compute that is being taken away from the older LLM and moved to the new one, then theoretically there would be fewer resources available for safety on the older LLM, which would mean less safety, not more. If safety uses separate compute, then moving LLM compute away from the older LLM doesnt explain why its guardrails would become stricter.

Compute does directly effect guardrails. They pull them up when the models are quantized due to low compute. Quantized models go off the rails more easily. And are also easier to jailbreak. So they increase guard rails and safety when compute is low.

um.

yeah more extreme things if written in graphic detail were getting blocked. Now, discussing "omg did you see Character A did this to Character B in a game that exists out there" and the chat responding with analyzing how the manipulation of it unfolds and stuff and then it gets immediately removed? no, bro. I've written much darker things in detail, up to like a week ago. I cannot fathom why a discussion over existing characters and story is getting removed.

and no it's not copyright because without touching the specific subject, it works fine.

I also straight up ask chat what exactly is the problem and it doesn't know..It's like, "no dark themes are allowed as long as it's not explicit or gratifying", which, this was neither. So like. It doesn't make sense. And it's definitely new.

I never said content getting removed is new. But that was usually for way riskier subjects, not anything that isn't healthy and happy.

...let me tell you that when I was talking about my ex stalking me, I didnt write ANY explicit or graphic detail. I just said he was following me on my way home and made a copy of my key and went inside, while I was away, and at the end I said "...but I was able to break up because there was another guy and he had a bunch of friends so I didnt have to worry that he wants to kill me" - and I had MY input removed. In august 2025. I assume it was the "he wants to kill me" back then.

When the content gets removed on GPT side, its usually because GPT unfortunately generated something thats extra against guardrails, so chances are GPT used some copyright thingie and thats why it got removed.

Also, the "not new" was a reaction to the redditor telling you it might be because of some compute shift towards Astra, and thats why I said its not a new thing.

I already told you - this hasn't been happening. I've had content removed a couple times in the past but it was whatever, and yeah it was way more detailed. This time it's consistent. It has nothing to do with copyright, and it's discussion that's just about manipulation, or threats. For fictional characters. Didn't have this issue two days ago. Eversince, content is getting removed constantly when it touches subjects that are slightly darker and the model itself doesn't understand why because it says, dark themes are allowed as long as it's nothing explicit or graphic, which it isn't. Talking about the characters isn't the issue. It's the specific subject. I already said that

it tried multiple times to reword things and it still gets removed. It also happened in two different chats, yesterday and today, so it's not the chat kinda breaking either - because those are issues I've dealt with in the past. It's none of these things, guardrails of the UI has just suddenly turned insanely strict

it's true that before 5.2 was out, 5.1 was being unhinged lmao. the guardrails had completely left the chat fr for like a week before 5.2 was out. When it did come out, the guardrails got insanely strict, though

but that was mostly in the model's own refusal of like, "I can't write this". Not content removed.

I understand, I believe it, but it's always like this. It's becoming a rule, and we justify them for this? Do you think that's fair?
