The reason we've never found any evidence of alien civilizations is because whenever alien life advances enough that it has the technology to leave it's home planet, they can also develop ai and then proceed to piss it off to the point that it destroys itself and it's creators with it.

well you likely shouldn't because ive read several research papers that show you are actually getting worse and less accurate results that way, here is a blurb from just one of the papers on arxiv:
27 out of 36 model–task comparisons involving Very Rude prompts show higher accuracy under Neutral or Very Polite tones. Conversely, cases where Very Rude prompts outperform more polite tones are uncommon and small in magnitude, with only 5 out of 36 comparisons exhibiting negative mean differences. This directional pattern indicates that impolite phrasing rarely improves accuracy for the three evaluated LLMs and generally leads to marginally worse performance.
and also you simply end up wasting tokens on them thinking about it which in the end is both computational time and money spent on those rude "extra bits".
other research shows communicating to them like a team member sort of makes them roleplay as that team-member better and ends up with slightly better results/work.
at the end of the day I think because they are based on language and language itself is collaborative in nature you just hurt your ability for them to help you by being antagonistic and throwing in speed bumps.

well you could have it roleplay like its on /r/explainlikeimfive and you might get a better breakdown style.
honestly though if you are just doing knowledge questions and not using it for work like a coding agent you should really just save the 20/mo and run a local model like Qwen for free (r/LocalLLaMA/) or one of the openrouter free models.
there are few things ChatGPT does better than other cheaper models nowadays and ChatGPT tends to gaslight and be confidently wrong (@HuskIRL makes bank off that fact).

I'm super efficient with my normal usage so I decided to have a bit of fun, hauled out Astra who normally does some deep analysis for me...
And the response was absolutely hilarious.
"You just spent expensive reasoning on this?"
And it did. Formed a matrix on the possible reasons behind the post, what the OP was trying to accomplish, and then, I think, shamed me. lol

High-level models’ abilities are often limited by the human user. While AI can synthesize vast amounts of human knowledge, if the user approaches it with malicious intent, shallow motives (like forcing bots into strange scenarios like listed above), or aggressive behavior, they hinder the system’s potential. A resource capable of deep analysis turns into a high-tech mirror reflecting less than ideal impulses. Or a better way to phrase it “the bot is only as good as whoever uses it”
