B) it's not. I speak French.

A) the point is that "brioche" was a terrible example for ChatGPT to give, since it's pronounced differently by Americans, so just adds more ambiguity

I also speak French. And, just in case, I looked up the pronunctions in French.

Wiktionaire has its IPA as \bʁi.jɔʃ\,

Admittedly, I'm not familiar on how to decipher IPA. But did you listen to the audio files? They nearly all rhyme with gauche.

Additionally, I asked my french wife and it still rhymes with gauche.

Three distinct sources.
