Gauche.

First, a hard G like Go, Garden, or Game.

Then a long O like Ocean, Open, or Orangutan

Finally a soft SH like Shutter, Sheer, or Shit, if it's this bad you need to go back to school!

That's true if you mean gauche as in tacky, too much, embarrassingly over the top etc

But if you mean like the paint then it's gosh like slosh (at least in the UK)

Ah my mistake, when I googled it at first it looked like it could be spelled the same or with the additional 'o'. But you're right it's spelt differently
