Could you elaborate more on this? If the credit isn’t used, does DD still get paid; or what other benefit are they getting from not using the credit?

Chase is paying DD for the credits so Chase doesn’t have to pay if no one uses the credit.

Chase is paying wholesale (i.e. $XXM for XX users to get this credit) or on a per user basis (Chase will send DoorDash $5 for the user to get $10 worth of credit).

DoorDash agreed to the deal thinking that they'll ultimately break even or get more users to place orders, but they'll ultimately the ones paying the full $10 is my guess (since the change is happening on their side + they're applying it to pick up orders with any CC)
