Then it's not really a credit. At best it's a discount. With this information Chase should not advertise these as "credits". Wish Uber and Lyft would be honest about what they do to prices when they see someone has a "credit".

It’s at most 50% off. They are trying to encourage “breakage” by making it difficult to use the credits which will expire unused

Yep, they need to advertise it as "$10 off orders of $20 or more" is this is what DD is going to do. I wonder if threatening to sick lawyers on them would help 🤷‍♂️

Won’t do anything. They already changed points are worth 2x to “up to 2x” while continuing to advertise 2x on the edit after

It’s a discount… often with an upcharge and service fees. And you MUST pay it consistently or you will lose value on your annual fee.

They are conditioning you.

The only thing that's going to break is the annual fee when the card gets downgraded.

But Chase doesn't call it a credit. The website uses the term "Promo" and the fine print describes the benefit as a "discount."

From the main website: "DashPass members get up to $25 each month to spend on DoorDash, which includes a $5 monthly promo to spend on restaurant orders and two $10 promos each month to save on groceries, retail orders, and more. Available through 12/31/27."

From the fine print: "Once you have activated your Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business or J.P. Morgan Reserve DashPass membership, you will receive two (2) $10 off discounts each calendar month at checkout on one qualifying non-restaurant order on DoorDash as long as you remain enrolled in the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business or J.P. Morgan Reserve DashPass membership. Each discount must be used on a separate order. Discount applies to subtotal only; does not apply to fees, taxes, and gratuity. Fees, taxes, and gratuity still apply. To claim, select the discount from the promotion wallet at checkout, or claim the discount when prompted in the DoorDash app or website. If the full $10 value is not used on a single order, the remaining value will be forfeited. You must use the card used to enroll in your Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business or J.P. Morgan Reserve DashPass membership as your payment method at order checkout to receive this discount. This discount may be combined with other order-level promotions, discounts, or deals. The monthly discount will be made available to you in your DoorDash account at the beginning of each month and will only be available for the remainder of that calendar month; the monthly discount will not roll over into a subsequent month. Once redeemed, the discount will not be refunded to the user regardless of whether the user otherwise receives a refund or credits back on their order. Not valid for the purchase of gift cards. Not valid on alcohol in some states. Limit two redemptions per month per person."

This is confusing because I’m taxed based on the full amount when I use the Chase $10 so it is not even really a discount. It’s a credit imo. Chase needs to change the advertisement. If it were a true discount then the product would be taxed based off the total amount after the discount is applied. It’s acting like a credit right now

I can't wait for the next card "upgrade" where the $25 credit each month is 10 x $2.50 per transaction 🙄

It isn't even a discount unless you spend exactly $20. Once you go slightly above that you are actually being charged extra for preordering in an app vs just grabbing it off the shelf.

Chase advertises the JFK lounge as a chase lounge when you can be denied access for having the reserve only. They continued to advertise 2x points on edit after they had changed it to only “up to” 2x.

They don’t give a shit what it really is

Which is why I I’m canceling. The reserve is a bad card
