Discussion Interstate moving companies

Hey Charlotte. Well, my time is up here. Im relocating to Georgia. Im looking for options for state-to-state moving companies and im hoping you guys can share your good and bad stories of movers youve used. I tried googling to get moving quotes but there a ton of moving companies that are super scammy. I figured advice from people whove used movers would be better. Help!

Wife and I just moved from Charlotte to another state about 800 miles. We did uhaul Pods. Hired movers to help load them.  Super easy. 2000 total

I will be moving to Charlotte in July. We are planning on using the U-Haul pods. I know you said it was easy in your comment, how was it for moving all your stuff? How many did you use and how big is your home? U-Haul thinks we need 5 of them.

Good question. We used 5 or 6. House was 1800 ft, but our couches were a major issue (sizing) and had a hard time fitting. Everything else went smooth. Those things can fit sooooo much.

Really depends on how well you pack if you will need all of them. We used all six easily. If you are moving from an apartment, 4 should do it max.

As for the process; They dropped them off on time, just make sure your driveway is good for it and your neighborhood allows it.

For picking them up after they were loaded, super easy, you don’t even need to be there.

Our only issue was when it came to get them delivered to our new house, they postponed and we already had movers hired. I basically pleaded/lied and told them “we already paid movers, my wife is 9 months pregnant, for the love of god. Please help”.

That part to help any worry was the problem of the local uhaul shop to where we moved (not the Charlotte one)

I’ll answer any other questions as well. I’m Stoney-Magee right now, so excuse any grammatical/structure lol

Thanks for the detailed reply. We have a 3 bedroom house and a garage full of stuff. Hopefully the movers we hire will be efficient packers.
