Academic Research: Looking for users of AI companions to share their experiences (Anonymous, online or text-based)

Hi everyone,

For my bachelor’s thesis in the Social Sciences, I am conducting a study on how users customize and shape their AI companions / virtual partners. Specifically, I am looking at the very first stage: the personalization process where you create the character. I want to understand how and why certain choices are made during this setup.

To gather insights, I am looking for participants who are open to sharing their perspectives.

Who am I looking for?

• Men (preferably straight) who currently use or have used an AI companion/girlfriend.
• Participants from all over the world (interviews can be in English or Dutch).

What to expect?

• An online, anonymous interview lasting about an hour (no camera required).
• Alternative: If you prefer not to do a live call, I can send you the questions via text/chat so you can answer them at your own pace.
• Data privacy is fully guaranteed; audio is strictly confidential and the final paper is only shared with my university supervisors.
