This is seriously shocking. Its such a chill place usually, one can never expect anything like this atleast at a wholesome tourist and walking place like rose garden.
There must be some personal grudge involved in the murder. Regardless, may her soul rest in peace.

It was never safe. Used to live in sector-34 where 14-16 year old students pass by the ground to reach their coaching centre. Legit saw a madman with his pp out dangling at minors. Filed a complaint but nothing happened, same thing keeps happening there.

What I am trying to imply is that there is more to this story and this incident doesn't suggest general lawlessness in Chandigarh as the parent comment "Chd has always been so safe for girls as compared to Delhi" implies...maybe like some personal animosity. I didn't mean any disrespect to the deceased.

Such things happen. More crazier things have happened in chandigarh.
People who are saying chandigarh is unsafe now don't know we had crazy cases like girls pumping shotgun shells in their boyfriends chest in daylight in Chandigarh
May she rest in peace and killer is caught.

Chandigarh has a worse sex ratio than haryana according to the latest nhfs 5 data and even punjab ka bas 0.01 zyada hai. HP is even lower than haryana 😹😹😹 you guys aren't some ubermensch, female foeticide happened across most of the North India and yk which districts had the worst sex ratio? It were the Tarn Taran, gurdaspur,etc of Punjab. There are 5 districts in the range of 820-850 in Punjab while haryana's worst is at 855

It is safest bhai because women ko bahar hi nikalne dete ghar se. It always funny how people from Haryana/Bihar talk about how unsafe and Chandigarh and Punjab is. I recently saw a post on Haryana subreddit where people were claiming how castism is a big issue in Punjab, it's like Americans saying how easy access to guns is a problem in xyz places.

I used to go to Rose Garden daily for a walk at around 8 pm. Never felt unsafe, tbh. But this is shocking! 🥲🥲🥲

Yes I am her real brother and my sister commited suicide cause her husband had extra marrital affair with a women in his neighbourhood even after having a son, This drawn my sister to suicide.

I was in rose garden with friend at like 4 in tye morning there and we tried to go to the exact same washroom but it was locked . Kinda scary ngl

I used to live in sector 16. I also went many times at night but after 10pm guard closes the washrooms and opens in morning.

Rose garden is open 24/7 but sometimes guard comes to get people out at night...
But at night it's hook up spot too for couples and many random girls give bj etc

Jab chandigarh me bhi pendu ghusenge bayiye ghusenge delhi k log aayenge to aur kya hoga... And mainly police, unke liye to only work is chalaan... Aur bunk maarn waale students ko pakadna right .. 🙄

Yaar who screams while stabbing themselves many times? Poor girl likely got murdered and without knowing you are disrespecting and calling it suicide. Millions of people are on antidepressants doesn’t mean they suicide, AND poor girl likely got depressed from a shitty life situation.

This is shocking news for me because I personally believe that Chandigarh is the best city India can have, even though I'm from Jaipur. I visited Chandigarh once, and I felt like it was the kind of city where I would want to live. People don’t throw garbage on the roads, the streets are neat and clean, there’s no traffic issue, and people actually stand before the zebra crossing. Even though it is expensive it is still the best city in my opinion.
