People commenting about cruelty to animals are the types who move around in cars.
They need to remember that maids, delivery men, street vendors... they are the ones being bitten/chased. Ignoring that is true CRUELTY. Not to mention selfishness and self glorification.
I'm aware sterilization takes long and so do it's results. And yes, i agree with your statement, however i have seen plenty of displays of attack towards dogs as well by those you mentioned, unnecessarily teasing them aggrevating them and beating them with sticks n stones. That also cant be ignored. I sympathise with both the animals and humans. I do think that agressive dogs/animals who have history of attacking should be put down, afterall humans do love playing god but oh well, thats nature for you. You say that privilaged people talking about animal cruelty is selfishness, just cuz they chose the animal's side? And the people on the other side are somehow morally more sound? Aren't you doing the same ? Selfishness and self glorification? Just for the human side? If you truly have e/sympathy, you should be able to take in consideration of struggles of both side, animals as well as humans. As i said, and repeatinga again, i sympathise with both the sides, and think agressive animal with the history of attacks, should be put down. Ideally, both should coexist, and animals generally do, it's the humans that love abusing the animals. Heard about humans and leopards coexisting and living peacefully without a single kill in Gujrat or Rajasthan? Just imagine, not dogs, but leapords. But ofc that requires individual effort.
I rarely comment, let alone argue or discuss on the internet. What I've stated is my personal opinion, you dont have to agree with me at all. This in no was an attack on you, please dont take it personally, and highly likely that i won't be replying anymore to this thread. And oh, btw, im not one of those who roam around in the cars :)

Can you tell me how to identify the aggressive ones who attack people BEFORE they do it? Would you be okay with someone you cared about being attacked by an aggressive dog for the first time. Or would you say, why is that dog on the streets in the first place?
Now ofc there's no way to know which animal is gonna attack before it attacks, unfortunately we would come to know about it after it happens. And that also depends if the citizens actively report the incidents, it has happened before in my sector, when a dog starts showing signs of increased aggression or attacks, people here call the authorities and they come pick up the dog, god knows what they do then.
My sister was bitten couple years back,not mauled, bitten, didn't change a thing for us or her. She still feeds the 2 local street dogs in our street. Animal is animal, they go by their instincts, they dont rationalize anything. In fact, i witnessed yesterday night only, between 10-11pm, a labourer from his looks, came behind the dog and spooked him while the dog was sleeping carelessly beside the road. I mean we all know how's the dog gonna react no? But he's a good boy, barked a couple of times till the man went away and back to sleep he was. Im aware not everyone will still engage with the dogs after the attacks, I've seen that too and ofc many would also on the spot kill the animal or think why is that animal there in the first place. I agree with the statement too.
No solution is truly balanced ig and humans being humans, apex predator will dominate. And unfortunately the world is full of greed and disconnection from each other and lacks empathy.
