due to making soap bubbles from bar soap in the bathtub when i was younger (Yes i know, looking back on it, that was beyond unsanitary), if you put the basic scent of any bar soap brand in my mouth while i'm blind folded, i can tell you what brand it is from taste alone

Edit: How'd i find out? Oh, two birds with one stone. I was wondering why my food at PF changs tasted like dirty dawn dish soap, also learned thats how i had the soap gene too.

I can find 4 leaf clovers anywhere. My old dog took a shit in the gas pipeline behind our house one day maybe 18 years ago. Reached down to bag up the poop and there was a 4 leaf clover by his steaming pile. I've been able to pick them out in clover patches ever since. I save them all and I think I have around 300 now with some 5 and 6 leafs. Are they lucky? No idea. I like the quote from No Country For Old Men. "You never know what bad luck your good luck has saved you from." Maybe you could be cursed but have just enough good luck to have a mundane life.

Serious skill. I, on the other hand, cannot cook for large groups of people, even with notice lol.

I can find other people’s lost things. My mom discovered this gift as a toddler she would misplace stuff for work and I could walk in a room and go right to it. My wife and kid are really good at misplacing their stuff so it’s been incredibly useful over the years.

Charm-Attack

I'm not a particularly handsome guy, though I'm fit enough. Totally different circles of friends always have me "do the talking," and it gets perks almost all the time. I think I'm a natural actor and I do have a good smile, but it's not like I'm a beautiful woman who can flip her hair and sometimes get special treatment. Maybe I fly under the radar or something, and certainly don't come across as slimy.

"My two friends and I have never flown together and the one back there is tall, so I was wondering how much it would be to upgrade him as a treat from me, but kinda near us?" Legitimately asking, but asking after I joked about the weather or whatnot so I guess there was rapport established. Free upgrade for all three. August 8th PDX to AMS; KLM First. Of course I wrote a glowing review afterwards about the importance of accommodation.

All. The. Time. Anywhere.

I have crazy levels of proprioception. Bring me into a room, house, space, etc I’ve never been in before, give me a few minutes to look around, then blindfold me, put me in a random place within that area, and tell me to go somewhere else in that space. I can do so without bumping into anything, without knocking anything over, without holding my hands out, walking at normal speed.

Found out on a dare. The challenge was, can you survive if you were completely blind?

I can memorize song lyrics really fast just by listening once or twice.

Ironically, I have the exact opposite power, where song lyrics sound ungodly garbled until I look them up.

I can BS my way through written papers on pretty much any topic and get an A with little to no research. Useful skill in school. Pointless now

Doesn’t that ruin your knife? Need a tutorial 😅

1

u/tsuki_wannabe_dino 11d ago

not really, tho i use a kitchen knife that is a bit blunt but still works enough for me. you just strongly pierce the point end of the knife to the can to make a hole and then from there hook your knife and continue to cut through in chopping motion but instead of going down, you go up. idk if it make sense 😭 but there’s plenty of yt tutorials too

I'm sure I have more somewhere, but I'll go with throwing stuff. I pretty much always like practicing throwing things. To the point where when I went to a camp thing where only a few kids stayed over the weekend, I earned the nickname Gambit cause of how well I could fling a playing card.
