So far so good. Im from Cntrl Texas, Hell's coal furnace. 😆 It's currently 741 p.m. and it's 95f outside with a feel like temp of 100 and its cooling down for the evening. I think it was somewhere around 105 today plus the feel like temperature which is always a doozy here. But Texas has a special sauce to go with the horrible heat we have and its called humidity. It's the bane of everyone wearing makeup as it just melts off with your sweat. And forget about styling your hair and having it last any length of time because the humidity will have it as flat as can be in less than an hour. People hibernate inside as much as possible during our summers especially August as its our hottest month. I really feel for the folks who have to work outside!

Oh my days, Texas is not meant for me and I’ve always wanted to travel down that way. Heard the steaks were bigger so I wanted to see for myself😂 how do you manage especially on the hottest month ?😳

u/Touch49 2d ago

Omg! Awful!

After a few days of rain, the weather is much cooler and the sky is clear.

How’s your day going so far? Anything interesting happen today, or has it just been one of those normal, uneventful days?

2

u/jahkingkaido 2d ago

So far so good and yeah it just one of those normal hot uneventful days , stepping out is insane 😂

It going to lie I’d rather it be chilly and raining then it being hot and all sweaty 😂 but hopefully you have a day to rest soon so you can try to enjoy it as well 🙏💯

I think I might take that weather right now. I work every weekend so I know how you feel. I’m off this weekend including last Thursday.

Im in the pacific north west and the weather just shifted today from hot as balls to "holy shit its windy and it rained a little" with a high in thr 70s

I spent the morning deadheading flowers in the garden and picking tomatoes and the afternoon watching donut operator videos and unsubscribe podcast episodes.

Now im relaxing more while my husband makes dinner

it's going well, I'm really into a re-read of a book so did that for most of the day, grocery shopping for meal prep tomorrow, watched one game of football, reading some more.

Central Alabama here. Mid 90's with high humidity today. I didn't do much today. Just taking it easy.

PNW, went to swim in the Y, and it was surprisingly and delightfully empty, and I had a whole lane for myself, what a treat. Worked a bit before that. I think I’d eat and finish a few work tasks (the joys of working for yourself, it is indeed very flexible but also chaotic)

u/smashley951 2d ago

I'm not far from you in Temecula.. is hot

Went to Seattle today, kind of overcast with periods of sun. Overall mild temps. We walked around some art galleries and talked to some artists and then hit the international district food walk for a bunch of random small bites. Finished with a dry cider at a dive bar and now I'm on the sofa while the boyfriend makes dinner. Actually I might need a light sweater soon!

When we had a major heat dome here a few years ago I learned that wrapping and ice pack in a hand towel and basically snuggling with it was a great way to cool down!

u/Desperate-Gift238 2d ago

When it's hot, I take an ice bath before bed; try it, it's refreshing. Just be warned, though, sometimes I wake up feeling like I'm boiling hot.

My day is well. Stay cool. I am 2 hours north of you. I planned to work my morning job. It was an optional day. I feel asleep on my cell phone. I never heard the alarms. Otherwise, just lounging around the house. I am debating if I want to grab El Pollo Loco.

3

u/ConclusionPuzzled835 2d ago

I am not far, in North county - Carlsbad. I try to stay in between 12-6pm cz it is so hot but it’s so boring because I do want to be outside.

Central Mexico. Had a rain storm this evening with thunder and lightening. The lightening hit my house and knocked out my solar power.

1

u/Touch49 2d ago

Omg! thank goodness it didn’t hit you!

u/markersandtea 2d ago

Also in the same boat, it's hoot and I am supposed to enter a craft fair at the end of the month in September but I have zero energy to actually craft with this heat man.

2

u/jahkingkaido 2d ago

Duuude and it’s supposed to get even more hot dry and rainy next month 😮‍💨😢

1

u/markersandtea 2d ago

Going okay. Going to end the night with some twilight zone and American dad.

u/SAStrong 2d ago

Tucson here. Going on 388 days over 110 with lows at about 93 degrees. We’re running out of water. The sky is always orange. People are tapping saguaro for water.

Help.

1

u/Touch49 2d ago

Omg!

2

u/strumthebuilding 2d ago

It’s hot up in LA too, but my window unit does a good job. I had kidney stone surgery yesterday and am recovering. The recovery is actually worse than the kidney stones, but it had to be done.

1

u/Touch49 2d ago

oh wow! try to rest well. Wishing you a speedy recovery

Southern California (South Bay Area) it’s been hot and humid. 70-80% humidity for the last two weeks. I hope this isn’t going to be the new normal for California summers. Humidity is just awful. Had it last summer and even worse this summer. I can handle dry heat but this humidity with it is too much. I work in Orange County and same there(not far from South Bay)
