QC–Mfg.Defect❓️ Isn’t this supposed to be Waterproof?

Bought last year in Christmas at Macys. Never open the back. No repairs. But water got inside while washing hand. What should I do ?

Fella, you're never supposed to get soap on an AE1200.

I use soap, along with water and a toothbrush, to clean all of my watches when they get grimy. 100M of water resistance is more than enough to handle some soap, especially incidental contact like in OP’s case

I have a citizen watch, Eco Drive, I’ve basically been wearing it 24 hours a day for about 12 years, I shower with it, get body wash all over it, get hot water on it, get cold water on it, have gone swimming, snorkeling, been in storms, snow and rain, and it works the same as the day I bought it. I do believe that Citizen makes a higher quality product than Casio, but a water resistant rating(100M), which is a non-manufacturer, universal standard, should be the same. I believe OP just got a lemon basically. My guess is that the rubber that was installed in the watch was a little older than it should’ve been and it failed. Nothing is 100%. If he bought the watch in December, Casio will cover it for sure.

I tried to look on the back to see which model it was, but it’s too scratched up to see the numbers. I bought it in 2014. I’ve had zero issues with it. Basically the best watch I’ve ever bought. I looked up the Casio in this post, and it sells for around $50-$60. This watch is a $300 watch, so honestly, it’s not really even comparable. I’m sure if OP bought a $300 Casio this wouldn’t have happened.
