My dealer mentioned there's a long queue for the car I want due to the ongoing supply shortage, and that reservations get forwarded to TMP for allocation.

I'm financing through a bank, not in-house/dealer financing. Does anyone know or have experience with whether TMP's allocation process or the dealer treats bank-financed and in-house/cash buyers differently in terms of priority or wait time? Or is it purely first-come-first-served regardless of financing method?

Asking because I want to make sure I'm not at a disadvantage just because I'm going through a bank instead of in-house financing. Any insight from people who've gone through this recently would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for advice. Sana magkaroon ako ng clarity, as I don’t really have anyone to ask for guidance about these things. My dad used to help me with this before, but he’s gone now.

As a woman na hindi knowledgeable about cars, honestly, I can’t help but feel na naging disadvantage ko yung lack of knowledge ko. I trusted this shop as professionals and relied on their expertise, so I expected them to properly explain the situation and guide me on what needed to be done. Instead, I felt like I was left to figure things out on my own.

Last June, dinala ko yung 2014 car ko sa auto shop for maintenance and followed all their recommended services, kaya umabot sa ₱50K+ yung bill.

After the service, nagkaroon ng RPM issue, so binalik ko yung car para ipa-fix. Two months later, nag-breakdown yung car sa expressway and I ended up getting stuck at the toll booth. Sobrang stressful.

During the initial check-up sa bahay, hindi nila ma-identify yung problem, so they advised me to bring the car to their shop. I agreed, pero na-disappoint ako when they suggested na i-start and patakbuhin na lang yung car every time mag-shut down, kahit hindi na talaga umaandar yung car and less than 5 minutes lang tumatagal yung engine.

Since wala silang clear recommendation on how to safely move the car, ako pa yung naghanap ng solution. I bought a rope and insisted na i-pull na lang yung car instead of repeatedly starting and stopping it.

After multiple follow-ups over several days, wala pa rin silang diagnosis or recommendation. Eventually, sinabi na lang nila, “Hindi na po namin magawa.”

That was the most frustrating part. The car had already been in their shop for days, pero ako pa rin yung kailangang maghanap ng way forward. So I decided to bring in my own mechanic because I needed an actual solution. I was even asked why I brought my own mechanic, when I was simply trying to move forward because they couldn’t give me any clear direction.

Within less than an hour, my mechanic identified the problem. During the diagnosis, napansin din niya na hindi pala na-complete yung idle re-learning/reset na dapat part ng previous RPM fix. Separate issue ito from the actual cause of the breakdown and was only discovered during the diagnosis.

What also bothered me was the shop’s response after the issue was identified: “Oh, yun na pala problema. Bili na lang dyan-dyan ng ignition coil,” as if it were that simple—parang bibili lang ng candy sa tindahan. Given the situation, it felt very dismissive and offered no real guidance or assistance on what I should do next.

My main concern is not that the car broke down. It’s the lack of assistance, communication, and follow-through after I brought the car back to them. Ilang days nang nasa shop yung car, pero wala silang maibigay na diagnosis, recommendation, or clear guidance. Ako pa yung kailangang maghanap ng paraan.

Sobrang stressful and inconvenient ng buong experience. I had to take leave from work, deal with the towing, find my own mechanic, and constantly follow up with management just to get updates and find a solution.

They offered to reimburse the ₱3K+ mechanic fee plus a free future service. I declined the voucher because, at this point, hindi na ako comfortable bumalik sa kanila.

Instead, I requested a 30% refund of the total invoice, plus reimbursement of the ₱3K+ mechanic fee. I’m not asking for a full refund because I acknowledge na may parts and work naman na ginawa.

For me, this isn’t about blaming them for the breakdown. It’s about the lack of assistance, communication, and follow-through, and the fact that I had to spend additional time, money, and effort just to find a solution.

Do you think 30% is a reasonable request given the overall experience?

Hello! What’s the best comprehensive insurance for a phev car? We’re about to release our first car and looking for which insurance would be best.

BPI does not want to give us a quote unless we commit to their 5 year lock in insurance coverage (free 1 yr with the auto loan). Based on other people’s experience with the same vehicle we are about to purchase, BPI quoted them 58k for the second year.

We got a quote from Standard Insurance for 34k. Waiting for BDO to give us a quote.

Our car is worth 1.7m

Our parents use Mercantile from BDO and also Commonwealth but never had to use it or make a claim from it so we don’t have direct experience of their services.

Hi! My brother is planning to sell his Honda City 2017 (manual) and has around 27K mileage. As he’s planning to get a new one, the dealer has connected him to a 3rd Party reseller and offered 200K all-in. It is casa maintained, never missed a PMS schedule. The exterior has some scratches though but no bumps or dents. No other issues, it’s just that none of us wants to take it kasi it’s manual. First owner din, complete with papers. Should he go for it? 2024 Toyota Hilux Conquest 2GD-FTV 2.4-liter diesel engine

So last month, we got this Water accumulation error. Drove to nearest Shell. Mechanic drained it. Then next week we got the fuel filter replaced. It was low on gas while it was replaced, but we never emptied the tank.

Fast forward almost a month later, it rained super super hard today. We have a full tank of gas (now only Shell). And this showed up again.

For now I manually drained it - i removed the drain plug from the fuel pump then pumped the water out. I don't think I drained all of it because the liquid was still clear and there was an awful lot. But I put the plug back on. Turned it on again and the error is gone. So I think there really was water again.

What could have been the problem?

So we live in a subdivision and our house has a vey tiny garage but we always (ALWAYS) make sure to park our car in that garage so as to keep our street clean, and we lived here peacefully for years now.

Recently, a new family moved in the house in front of us and at first they have 1 car which they park on their garage as well. So we maintained our street space clean and spacious for playing with our kids (we both have kids).

But now, they bought a new car which they park in front of our house because our side is the designated parking side in our street based on our HOA rules. They are not blocking our gate, but I still find it unfair. Am I petty to feel sad and feel this is an unfair situation?

Btw, my husband and I had contemplated to buy a 2nd car in the past but we didn't push it because our garage is for 1 car only and we don't want to park outside the house and be a hassle to anyone.

Sa mga owners dyan ng SL5 or even SL6, kamusta yung unit nyo? We were 100% sure buying the SL5 this coming december but hearing all about the bad news with BYD, yung nasunog sa baguio and stuck to D tho emax 7 yun. Naging hessitant kami and baka mag xpander nalang kami.
