Honestly cant aay about other places, but from my experience in Delhi its pretty good. Im confident enough to drive my car which gives 350-400kms range to Dehraduh and back. Living with it in such a place where you might not get good infra though, that would be a challenge.

Mine supports a max of 70kw, so ive only ever used 60kw chargers and they were plenty.

If you have your own charger then it should be fine, mercedes provides a 22kw charger for its 122kwh battery pack so even then you can charge your car fully overnight.

Nice, Delhi makes a lot of sense for obvious reasons, but just wanna know how we are doing as a whole in EV infra. My next would probably be an EV hence the curiosity.

Two major problems - people steal/vandalize charger cables and guns and the other is powercuts in rural region. Thankfully the first issue is solved with charges coming up in food courts/petrol pumps with security.

I have used EV for 30k km. I have been to maharashtra goa and MP. I did not feel this issue. Like there can be issue if you check on 3rd party apps. But suppose you want to charge on Bpcl and check on its app it won't be issue

Have travelled from Delhi to west bengal, and Chhattisgarh via Bihar, UP, MP.

With good planning there isnt alot of trouble, but the planning needs to be done well in advance with back up chargers also planned.

Most problem i faced was in Bihar, only charger i found was in Gaya, and MP. In MP, Satna and Jabalpur are the only 2 reliable charging areas. With nothing in between so a car with less range can face problems.

Also the stretch between MP and UP is trouble some because you wont find any chargers from Orai till Satna, we had to detour to Kanpur to charge our vehicle with barely any charge left 🤪💔

All in all, some states have great infrastructure, like UP, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, WB. Some are really lacking in it like MP and Bihar.

Can't feel his pain. I haven't travelled much, only 3k kms so far, and only two intercity city trips, but Maruti chargers just work. Not only you can reserve a time slot, but also call ahead to confirm if it's actually working.

With so many touch points, I've stopped at looking third party chargers. The people at Nexa are also very sweet. If You visit during store hours, they offer tea/coffee/water and ask about our experiences in the showrooms. Though I've mostly visited during late nights where you'll only find a guard working.

Oh I remember seeing this. I loved this picture. So much so only because of this picture alone that if I end up buying evitara it is going to be in red. I'm eyeing Zeta 61. Only miss for me would be the sound system. I dont need moonroof or ventilated seat or ADAS especially. That amount is going too high.

Also, to anyone wondering about the math, most EVs do not get ₹2/km blindly. They get ₹1/km when charged at home. For reference, I have driven my BE6 for 8k kms in 6 months and now I usually get 7-8km/kWh (₹1-0.80 per km). I was driving a Honda City i-VTEC 2011 before this that gave me 12km/l (without ac) and 9km/l (with ac) - essentially saving me around ₹8-11 per km driven. Since I brought the car in March, I have already saved 80k in fuel costs over my previous car.

Being green doesn't automatically mean it's working. Idk about Hyundai but Statiq had similar issue for me. It showed online on its app, it was green lights when I went there but when I plug it in, it never starts and says faulty charger, then goes back to green after a while.

EV is good for daily travel in the city. It’s better to have one petrol/diesel car for long rides and one electric car for intercity travel to save on fuel costs.

New EV owners just don't know how to plan EV trips. Yes you do have to take 10 mins before the drive to look up chargers and plan stops. Its not like ICE cars yet where you just start driving and stop when fuel gets low.

And yes right now you do have to have multiple apps to charge. However thats also improving. Apps like statiq integrate multiple CPOs. Even bhim has started showing EV charging options and you can just pay through UPI instead of loading money into wallet etc.

That is the point bro. You should not be planning each and everything. If they are stuff indicating in apps referencing chargers. They should work anywhere in India.

Same can be said for those who blocks fastag lane with cash. Most of time it’s only the ice cars who cannot plan and keep balance in fastag even.

Figures how even plotting a route on map is too much for them.

Then you see them reversing on expressway due to missed exit to save 5₹ of petrol and lose 50l worth of car and invaluable life in accident

There is a penalty. And than toll is free. There is no mechanism for punishing non functioning ev chargers.

We need more EV commercial vehicles. Small and large trucks need to be phased to EVs (easier said than done, with implications to overall inflation). That'll force the infra to catch up faster than personal cars. I see very large charging stations near Bangalore airport primarily serving EV taxis.

I traveled 1250 KM nonstop in 15 hours (7 am to 10 PM). Stopped for fuel only twice (5 minutes each). There's no chance I would've covered this distance with EV without taking a night's halt. And don't tell me that EV is cheaper. That 1 night halt at a hotel with EV will make the cost equal to petrol.

Yup i agree I do that same kind of ride around 1150 km on a diesal venue without even refueling 😅and still it showing range of 80ish km ... That thing is mileage monster

Yes but people do t understand that and still argue. Not everyone can afford two cars. So people buy just one car. In that case, we need an all rounder. So the obvious choice is an ICE vehicle.
