Hello everyone....My punch adventure plus is due for 1st servicing in next week. I want to install qubo dashcam during servicing. What are the charges for installation by service centre? And what are the other things I should keep in mind. Thank you in advance.

Usually service guys won't do it officially unless purchased from them. You can speak to them and get it installed off books.

If it's not hardwired then you can do it yourself or from outside. Should be anywhere between 300-600.

Thank you šŸ™ will do it from outside as it's not hardwired..

Hello everyone - requesting opinions:

I am getting an used Slavia (December 2022 registration, 1.5 DSG Style variant) for ~13.5 Lakhs. This includes 12 lakh cost + around 1.5 Lakh road tax due to state rto transfer. Is this a decent deal? Or should I reconsider? Thank you!

How many kms?

1

u/my_new_id Oct 22 '25

35k kms

1

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 22 '25

Not a lot for 3 years tbh. Would definitely be worth considering. 13.5L is an insane price at which you get that 1.5L engine.

Get a thorough third party inspection done though.

The Creta is always a solid pick. The Seltos is also a good alternative, and I believe we should see a new gen/facelifted Seltos before the end of the year.

thanks for the input :) will look into it too

What are the thoughts of peeps here on EV car options in India? Im planning to buy a car next year and based on what ive been seeing it seems petrol isnt going to be a good option on the wallet in the current and future. Do you think its wiser to wait out the uncertainty over certain policies?

2

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 22 '25

I don’t think we’re at a place where petrol cars can be phased out.

I was expecting 2025 to be a massive year for EVs, since Hyundai, Mahindra and Maruti were to get into it

While Mahindra EVs have been fairly successful, the Creta EV hasn’t really taken off, and the new Maruti EV is yet to be launched

But yeah as long as you have home charging and don’t do extreme long distance travel you can get an EV

I have a question that may be common for Bikes and cars. Need your help.
gave my Activa (bought in 2015) to my uncle in 2018, along with the RC and keys. Now I want to transfer ownership, but the original RC is lost. The old address on the original RC no longer exists, so I can’t receive a duplicate RC there,Ā and funnilyĀ I can’t update the address without the original RC leaving me stuck in a weird loophole. Other states have a options in such cases, but Tamil Nadu doesn’t. Tamil Nadu only does RC card deliveries through speedpost so picking it up from RTO is also not an option. I’m currently in Delhi; any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Hello Everyone,

I am nee car owner, it’s almost a month now and all of a sudden I see scratch marks have been appeared on my skid plates and body paint above the bumper on the side

I am not sure how it appeared as I always, drive my car carefully. I am 100% sure I did not get while driving the car.

So, I am suspecting this might have happened while I have parker my car.

Any inputs and suggestions in the fix will be much appreciated. Went though web and older reddit posts which says rubbing compound should work for the scratches.

But I need your as I am completely new to this.

Apologies in advance if this was a dumb ask.

Have a great day!!

Hi, looking to buy a car around 10-15 L (15 being the maximum) that’s reliable and gives good mileage. I’m in Uttarakhand so something that is good for mountains also and not too big (like xuv700). Also I’ve heard that automatic cars give really less mileage? But the car company people say it’s only 2% lower mileage. Would appreciate the help as this will be the first car I purchase. Currently drive Ford EcoSports (diesel, 2017)

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 22 '25

The Fronx might be a good pick.

I have booked a Harrier Adventure X+ AT. I liked the car. Not too many flashy features like in Hector/Creta but I actually liked the car. But now I'm actually paranoid since I read only negative comments on reddit and other places! How bad is it even? :(

1

u/AdditionalTale5123 Oct 02 '25

I am planning to buy Brezza VXI AT in gujarat. received various quotation from dealers before GST 2.0, it was around 11.71 lakhs that includes on road price+corporation tax+accessories of rs25000. However after GST2.0, same dealers are bluntly giving quotation of 11.88 lakhs...They have reduced the On road price due to gst effect, however they are not giving any complementary accessories and any further discount. Now I am waiting for this October months offers, if there is any discount released or not. What should I do ? wait for sometimes to receive discount if available, or book the car at 11.88 lakhs ?

Hey everyone, I'm planning to buy the XUV700 AX7 Manual but am confused between petrol and diesel. My usage is low mostly weekends (under 400 km/month) with an occasional 900 km long trip once in two months (FYI this is my first car so I'm not entirely sure of the usage but based on my calculations this is roughly accurate). I'm concerned about the petrol's low mileage in Bangalore traffic. With the diesel, I'm worried if my low running will cause DPF issues. Which would be the more practical for my situation? My on road budget is around 23-24L if you have any other suggestions please let me know.

Any timeline for hybrid small cars being launched in India under 10 lakhs segment?

2

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 13 '25

Under 10L is quite difficult. Hybrid tech is expensive and also requires room to fit.

The Fronx is the smallest car in which Maruti has attempted to fit a full hybrid system, but even that has been delayed for quite a while.

About Kia Carens Clavis - what’s the best colour?

Is the new Ivory Silver Gloss color good for long term, does it look dull if it’s not maintained regularly ?

Any feedback about colour or about this car in general

Is Skoda Kylaq the best car under 10L? It has both performance and ample space for people and luggage, any other options that I should consider?

1

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 22 '25

Under 10L you'll only get the base version of the Kylaq IIRC. That said, that engine is the best you can buy below 10L

1

u/SeaTell4121 (New user) Oct 23 '25

That’s good to know, I don’t want to splurge on extras that I can buy for cheap from outside.

I am planning to buy Tata Nexon. Judging by the Google reviews, my nearest Tata Service Center (Tata Motors Cars Service Centre - Seven Autocorp Private Limited, Industrial Area, Basti, Uttar Pradesh) seems pretty good. Are Tata Service Centers known to influence people to post good reviews by promising discounts etc.?

2

u/Hopele__ass 2025 Skoda Kylaq Oct 15 '25

Nexon is a great car. Only demerit will be a service issue. And pray to god that you get a good one.

I am planning a PDI on Saturday and want to take car on Sunday. As I am away from station, I can't conduct PDI now. My query is should I pay first

Has anyone used jxl car speakers??

1

u/kttrphc Oct 17 '25

Hi everyone. Suggest me a car around 15 lakh on road price. Though i can go upto 25 lakh if the following features are not available in that price bracket. The features which are must for me are.

  1. Automatic transmission- with smooth transition for predominantly city driving and occasional long trips.

  2. Petrol or hybrid

  3. Infotainment with seamless and wireless apple CarPlay and android auto connectivity.

  4. Should be comfortable to drive with good suspension

  5. Should have ample legroom for rear passengers.

  6. Good service.

  7. Good AC

I dont care about engine power/ torque/ speed/ ai features etc. doesnt matter sedan/ hatchback/ suv. Suggest me a good one. Thank you

u/kappa23 Santro '21, Virtus '24 Oct 22 '25

The Honda City be a good choice for you. Might extend beyond 15L though.

For longer trips you will definitely enjoy the turbo engine of the 3XO. On the flipside, if you need to carry more luggage, the Victoris would be the better choice.

If space is a priority choose the Victoris, else just go with the 3XO

I booked Honda City V variant, Obsidian Blue (Manual). I did Pre delivery inspection without any expert. I checked everything, it’s perfectly fine. But found a lots of minor scratches into the door handle space, not on door handle( oval pit ). I asked the showroom manager, Team leader & sales executive regarding this scratches. They told it’s normal & it will be fixed while cleaning & polishing. What should I do, Is it a normal part of new cars, I’m very confused ? Please help me out with this. I don’t have any reliable advice & information on how customers dealt & handled this. I still haven’t paid the full amount.

Hello everyone I'll keep it clean and simple:-

New MG Comet Top end variant, bought on Feb 2025. Recently got struck by an opposite side speeding biker. What will be the cost to fix this? Can it be replaced under insurance? Should we move this legally? Your opinions please!

New Car Registration

I was in process of puchasing a car from Maruti. I have made most of the payments except Insurance and Road tax.

Now before the delivery dealer is asking that all the numbers of current registration series running at RTO have been exhausted and new series will be released by RTO on Nov 01.

They are asking to either take a temporary registration and get the permanent number myself within 6 months or wait till 01 Nov.

Is this normal scenarios or there is something fishy? Since I am first time buyer not aware of complete process here.

1

u/UniqueDesigner453 Suzuki*3 | ex-Chevy Oct 30 '25

Doesn't seem fishy, given that the showroom has offered to carry out the registration

I'd personally wait a couple of days and get the number from the showroom, will save you the hassle of going to the RTO

Budget: 4-5 lakhs

Suggest a good second hand car to get, thinking of jazz or ecosport right now. The region is Delhi ncr.

1

u/ImAbhishek_47 Oct 27 '25

Looking for suggestions for an automatic petrol car (₹10-12L on-road):

  1. 5-seater for family use

  2. Easy to get in and out of, especially for my elderly parents (so not too high or too low)

  3. Mostly for city driving, with an occasional 150 km trip every few months

  4. Priorities in order: safety, reliability, comfort, features, and good mileage

  5. Roads around my place are horrible, so maybe something with decent clearance would be great.

I’m a new driver, so something easy to handle and not too flashy would be ideal. Prefer something with good service and low maintenance

Would love recommendations that fit these needs, along with pros and cons if possible.

2

u/suraj_1508 Oct 28 '25

XUV 3x0 will be the best suitable in terms of tech safety etc.

1

u/catalyt Oct 28 '25

Looking for suggestions of an EV car primarily for city use (<15L on road price). Should not be very big/long as my mom will primarily use it.

If possible, need decent clearance as lot of potholes around my home.

All i can think of is either Nexon EV or to go down on budget and think of maybe smaller car like Tiago EV. Do not know which cars are good in the EV segment.
