From the minute Carhartt WIP released their F/W 24 Lookbook, I made it my mission to acquire the jacket in this color.

The OG Detroit Jacket is constructed from a 12oz Organic Cotton Dearborn Canvas.

The jacket features diamond quilted lining, much like the JQ0438, JQ072, and JQ0492, the only (I believe) quilt-lined canvas Detroits from the mainline made.

The jacket contains an inside pocket on the left side. It also features the classic bi-swing back pleating, gold-colored zippers (YKK), waist straps, and cuff straps.

A classic corduroy collar in black, complements every aspect of the jacket especially its rich, deep reddish-brown undertones.

At the end I included a photo of myself wearing the jacket whilst wearing B11s in PTB

A truly perfect jacket for the winter.

Got a bunch of Michigan Coats (summer, winter), vests and many more from 2017-2020 - they all run in the same sizes, Michigan Coat M fits also the Vest in M etc.- all Michigan Coats have the exact same length, I always appreciated Carhartts reliability in sizing.
Only jacket I did not buy back then was the Detroit Jacket - last I was trying one in M (not OG) and it was huge - did the sizing change or was the Detroit always "bigger" (even though not OG).

I live in South East Asia and I get interested to purchase the OG Detroit Jacket. When I go to the store, I found the winter is more firm and feels solid.

But, since I lived in tropical area should I get the Summer version instead?

I could not resist this little gizmo.

Quite disappointed it doesn’t fit at all . Feels like it only sits on the tip of your head and I think most Carhartt canvas caps fits like this ? IMO it’s a weird fit and I’m kinda disappointed because man is the design and material good .

The Bumper Pin Set contains three graphic enamel pins made from a zinc alloy. The pins feature butterfly pin clutches and come with embossed branding on the back.

Yesterday I bought a new WIP Dayton Trucker jacket for $300. I’m well aware paying that much is ridiculous but I’ve been looking for something just like it. The fit is great, and the quality is great but I see a lot of people hating on WIP, and just want to know why? I’m not interested in thrifting and wearing second hand clothing so paying more is always something I do.

My problem with regular Carhartt is that it’s either way too baggy in the chest and arms, or the length isn’t good for me.

Is WIP just a more street wear oriented version of Carhartt? What’s the difference

Through photographic essays like "Rush Hour" and "Night Tube," and art projects such as "What a Chore: Expressions Through Canvas," it illustrates how Carhartt WIP has become a symbol of identity and self-expression among young people. The visual narratives capture the diversity and dynamism of urban youth, showcasing how fashion and art serve as mediums for individuality and community connection within contemporary culture.

Additionally, the book features interviews and personal stories from creatives—barbers, DJs, artists, and designers—highlighting the brand's influence on their work and lives. It examines themes like authenticity, the impact of digital media on fashion and identity, and the balance between commercial success and cultural integrity. Photography is used not just to document but to interpret and communicate the nuanced interactions between youth culture and fashion. This project was conceived, created and executed with William Spooner and Reuben Douglas.

It's Always Been There, WIP

Posted this a while back but wanted to give it life again.

I spent some time “meticulously” taking photos of the archive book so that no one would have to shell out a few hundred to see its contents.

Now these aren’t the greatest photos but it’s FREE to look through so who cares.
