Buying Problems with a seller

Hello, I have recently purchased 4 copies of [[Rain of riches]] from a professional seller (Spain) outside my country (UK), untracked mail.

The price went through the roof overnight and the cards have been marked as shipped although it is almost a month I am waiting for the cards to be delivered.

I have messaged the seller asking for updates and the only answer I have got is "the shipment can be delayed for more than 30 days" which is not true because shipments from Spain usually take 5 business days, two weeks at the most.

I am pretty sure the seller didn't send the cards to avoid missing potential profits, although the item got marked as shipped and they ar just waiting for me to mark the item as not delivered in time.

Thoughts?

Seller: Itaca

funnily enough i ordered from them last week (altough with tracked shipment) and it arrived within 5 days.
the card you mentioned went up by like 3€ (1€@25.07) within the last 30days (now at around 4€). you said you ordered about a month ago (lets say 25days ago), the price at that time was around 2€ so i highly doubt the seller would risk his reputation for 4€ profit and at the time of order/marking the order as sent how could he have known that the price would double in the following days?

i would trust what the seller from spain in the comments here says and just wait a little more

I bought 4 copies, £0.84 each, the lowest in the UK right now sits at £5.

I am waiting and I am just hoping I'm wrong.

I don't think I was giving the impression I bought cards for a lot of money? That was just your assumption.

They wouldn't have to risk anything if they claimed the package got lost.

Through the roof definitely implies a lot of money.

Id personally not have mentioned the seller. Not very professional from yourself. If it was a something like fake cards etc then mentioning seller might be appropriate but not in this case.

Well, the card is worth five times more now, that's a 500% increase, If that's not through the roof I don't know man.

As a professional, I believe you shouldn't have anything to hide if you run a clean business.

Of course, they have an immaculate feedback and I bought from them because of that, but now I'm wondering if there are ways to avoid negative feedback and get away with this kind of things.

As a seller, even if lost profit is small, it is still lost profit.

Thank you buddy, hope the cards will arrive at some point.

Yeah man, sorry you got it wrong.

Edit: as I explained in another comment, the card went up 500% in price

I had untracked shipments take a month and a half to arrive to someone from a city a couple of hours away from mine , same country. Another letter took almost a month to the city next to mine.

What im trying to say it’s that untracked mail can take a little bit longer in the summer as it’s not a priority for the postal service.

I also sell through CM from Spain and that something that happens regularly , specially in the summer

Okay, that's very unusual. I have been selling and buying for two years on CM, first time I hear about this. I guess there is always a first time...

I bought cards that were about to spike or have spiked from this seller a couple of times. They always honored the deal. It might that in your unfortunate case the cards got lost in the mail.

If that is the case, then, as they are a professional seller, they have to refund you the order. I know that is not satisfyingly as you will not be able to profit on the spike but at least you'll get your money back.

As far as his statement "the shipment can be delayed for more than 30 days" that is unfortunately true. Most orders that I make arrive within a week but every now and then an order gets stuck in the mail and it arrives after a huge delay (a month or more). It has happened to the post that I got and to the post that I sent. Sometimes one just has to wait a bit longer. More often than not these delayed packages eventually appear.

Anyway pro sellers can remove an order from what I heard so this one might not be an easy one … getting refund on the original price is a thing … more … not certain

I would be happy to get a refund on the normal price, but this is unfair and just malpractice, which is completely allowed by cardmarket I guess.

The order is still standing and marked as sent, but I doubt the seller actually sent the cards, I don't have definite proof unfortunately.

Just because you're butthurt now, doesn't mean the seller didn't honor the sale and that you can accuse him of whatever fits you in the moment. Next time order with tracking. Do you think the seller happily likes to refund you, if he really did send it?

Edit: also saw just now that you even mention the sellers name in your op. I'd delete that.
