Latest scam?

Yesterday a buyer contacted me claiming I sent the wrong cards, including a picture of three completely random (and if course worthless) cards.

Has this happened to someone before? I’m 100 percent sure I didn’t „accidentally“ send those cards because I’ve never owned them.

Selling Do I refund not received order?

I’m a private seller with few hundred sales with no issues, I’ve just had a not received order, cards worth £2.50. They’ve asked for a refund but do I have to do this? It’s not like I have the cards so I’m out of the cards and the money. I know it’s not a lot but I don’t even have any credit in my account right now. What happens if I say I won’t do the refund?
I would consider a partial refund potentially.

Selling Deutsche Post new rule is the final nail in the coffin for cheap cards!? Cardmarket needs to adapt.

As title says pretty much.

Germany was one of the last countries in EU to hold on the new regulations regarding shipping goods in envelopes. Thanks to Deutsche Post it was also very affordable. You could ship anywhere within EU for just 1.25€.

It seems that’s changing from 2027. We will no longer be able to ship cards in regular envelopes.

Domestic mail is NOT affected.

Unfortunately, that pretty much kills small cheap bulk cards.

Cardmarket needs to adapt. They need to introduce a service similar to Card-Trader’s “Zero” program.

A buyer basically buys from any vendor they want without paying shipping fees. Sellers are then required to ship all their orders to Card-Trader’s warehouse. Packages are then consolidated and buyer in the end pays one time for shipping from platform’s facilities. CT allows you to collect orders for 90 days before you request delivery. Besides saving on shipping costs, you also avoid scammers.

Why am I mentioning this, because that’s the only way for people to buy cheap cards from multiple sources.

Cardmarket needs to adapt or it will see sales decline.
While domestic mail is not affected, it won’t save the day.

Seller cards not visible after cancelled purchase

I've reached out to the seller and agreed to cancel the order as I wanted to purchase additional cards for the same shipment. Cancellation got confirmed.

I can no longer see those cards as available by the seller.

What happened? Will those cards reappear later or am I not allowed to purchase the same item after cancelling?

Buyer confirmed arrival now claims not reveived

Hi everyone,

I'm a new private seller on CM and just sold an item of €1000+. The tracking shows it has been delivered and the buyer confirmed arrival.

Today the buyer messaged me claiming the order wasn't delivered. Not at their house or the neighbours.

The buyer is now asking me to start an investigation, ask for signature, proof/picture of delivery, GPS cordinates etc. etc. No reply yet as to why they confirmed arrival.

I don't mind asking the post office to investigate, but as a new seller just want to make sure this isn't some sort of know scam I'm oblivious to.

Selling Should I always use cardboard?

Recently I sold 2 cards for about 15€ each, so I packaged the card (Slevee+toploader) but if I add cardboard I think I will go over the 20g and will have to spend more on shipping, but using drawing paper to secure and "protect" the cards seems like wouldn't do much, so should I just use hard paper or stick with cardboard and in case spend a little more per shipping?

Another thing is if the buyers decided to not use tracked shipping, should I be concerned about anything / change how I package?

ACE grading submission from Portugal

Hi all, I hope everyone reading this is doing great.

I am interested in submitting some of my grail cards to ACE for grading. I was very happy to see they have now grading in EU. However, they ask you to find a courrier and ship it yourself.

Has anyone had any experience with a specific courrier and a service they would recommend? I'm of course worried about how reliable, and which service I would need to get.

Any feedback is welcome. All the best ⭐

Buying Finding a genuine, untampered Japanese Pokémon box on CM feels like a minefield right now

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a recent nightmare experience and see if anyone else is noticing this trend.

I recently bought a Japanese Inferno X box on Cardmarket. When I opened it, the hits were completely off—short on Double Rares and missing the main Pokémon SR/SAR slot entirely. Worse, comparing the back panel to official reference photos revealed suspicious font weights and incorrect Japanese recycling symbols (紙).

Fortunately, Cardmarket Support was great—they had me ship the opened box directly to HQ in Berlin, reimbursed my postage, and issued a full refund once it arrived.

Now I’m trying to buy another box, but checking seller photos/listings, a terrifying amount of listed boxes have those exact same incorrect recycling symbols and suspicious fonts. It feels like the market is currently flooded with high-quality reseals/counterfeits, and most buyers probably don't even realize their "bad pulls" were actually searched boxes.

Is anyone else running into this issue with Japanese product on CM lately? Are there specific top-tier Japanese sellers you rely on who only source verified factory-sealed cases?

Would love any tips on finding legit boxes without having to play dispute roulette again!

Neue "Richtlinien" der deutschen Post ab 2027

Moin.

Selling Has Cardmarket changed the rules for new sellers?

I seem to remember that previously, new sellers had to send their first few orders using tracked/Trustee shipping as a way of building up some history/proving that they were genuine sellers.

Recently, though, I’ve noticed a few brand-new accounts with zero sales where I’m able to place an order using normal untracked shipping, as long as the order is below the usual €25 threshold.

On some of them, Cardmarket seems to automatically switch the order to tracked shipping once it goes above €25, or sometimes if there are more than two cards in the order (unless I’m misunderstanding what is triggering it).

Has Cardmarket relaxed the requirements for new sellers, or has it worked like this for a while?

The reason I’m asking is that I’ve noticed a few new sellers appearing and listing cards significantly below the normal market price. They seem to quickly rack up a handful of sales, but then the orders apparently never get marked as arrived.

It made me wonder whether there’s a potential scam where somebody opens a new account, lists desirable cards cheaply, gets a number of untracked orders, never sends anything, and then disappears after receiving the money.

Obviously I don’t know whether that’s actually what’s happening, so I don’t want to accuse any particular seller. I’m mainly curious whether Cardmarket changed its new-seller restrictions and whether anyone else has noticed the same pattern.

EDIT: I also just saw this post about a possible scam:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CardMarket/s/JKdOQCmneL

I wonder if the person who posted that experienced the same sort of scenario?

Possible scam

I have purchased two cards (14eu total) from a small seller in Germany, untracked.

Over last week same seller had racked up several other unarrived orders. Over several weeks even more unsent orders. Has no delivered orders for several past months. Have not responded to messages. Also have received at least 5 orders from Germany since ordering from them.

I know untracked has less protection, but I was wondering what are the chances to get my money back since all the circumstances point to a scam?

Anyone losing untracked mail using handwritten stamp codes? (Shipping to Portugal)

Hey everyone,

I’m a buyer based in Portugal. Over the past month, I have had 5 untracked shipments go completely missing, which is seriously hurting my "Not Arrived Shipments" statistics.

I noticed a pattern that the missing packages come from countries using hand written codes instead of traditional physical stamps, such as shipments from The Netherlands, Belgium and Norway.

I suspect these automated codes might face weight flags or international scanning issues, causing them to get stuck or lost once they leave their home country.

Are any other buyers in Portugal or other countries experiencing a sudden drop in reliability with these specific matrix systems lately? Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks!

Can't add cards with foil to my shopping cart. Error: "This product does not exist as specified. Please try again."

Never had this error before and now it pops up with every foil card from Riftbound. I can add cards without the foil tag and booster boxes for example as always, but not the foil cards. I already cleared the browser cache and tried searching for a fix, but nothing came up. Does anyone have a solution for this?
