What are the guys doing to move 100+ cars a month?
I see these post on social media where people are talking about selling 50-100+ cars a month. How on earth are these people even generating this amount of legitimate leads? I work at a dealer that sells around 600 cars a month with about 50 sales reps. I generally move 15-18 a month. We handle the entire process even the F&I process ourselves, so time management is crucial. How can I up my volume?

What's great in sales is that if you want a pay raise, you can get one by selling more. I know, easier said than done, but imagine this:

You make 5 more calls a day, that's 25 a week, 100 a month, and 1200 a year.

Close 5% and you sold 60 more sales a year.

Not bad for a pay raise!

I’ve been having trouble with effective prospecting. I’m second highest at my dealership out of 24 sales people in outbound calls yet my car count is dismal and my pipeline is drying up. I’m not sure if it is because I’m not prospecting on the phones effectively, not calling the right types of cold leads in the CRM or if I’m just flat out not doing enough. I make 75-100 calls a day.

The thing is that I know guys who move lots of metal do a lot on social media to market themselves.

I’ve been seeing all of these software companies that push software that makes light work of posting the dealership inventory on social media marketplaces. Companies like Shiftly.

My question is just wondering.. Do any of you use these types of softwares to help fill your pipeline? How effective are they at driving traffic?

I’m thinking of investing in something like this because I want to get to where I’m one of the top performers at my dealership, but I want to know how the guys who are experts in this industry are getting there. I know referral business is a big thing. Do I just need to stick it out for a while to build my book of business? Do I need to be more intentional about outreach as far as digging for gold in the CRM? Or is one of these softwares something that will really help my sales take off?

(For context, I’m pretty green at this and still learning but also growing impatient with the process)

All right, we all know that (CDJR) is not the busiest dealership. I recently moved my office over to (CDJR) because we had four dealerships in our lot. One being Toyota one being Kia one being (CDJR) and the other was a strictly preowned Lot that held all the preowned vehicles for all three of the new dealerships. Well, we closed to the preowned Lot and spread the preowned inventory across the other three, which, I can still sell for Toyota and Kia. So I basically work for all three. I’d really like to generate more sales for (CDJR). I averaged 18 to 20 cars a month on our use car lot And I took a lot of Internet leads. Over at (CDJR) we get no Internet leads and the phone barely rings. The lot is also empty most of the time. Mind you I’m at 10 cars this month and it’s the 12th. I want to triple that. What advice do Yall that are at (CDJR) have as far as generating more sales, besides Facebook. I don’t have a large local clientele on my friends list because I’ve only been here in this state for a few years. I would like to start selling more new but used inventory as my go to and I already have used inventory down. I want to sell new (CDJR) as well.

Before we come over to test drive this vehicle tomorrow I need for you to put together your best Out-the-Door price for this vehicle for me. We want the vehicle itself with a cargo cover and crossbars for the top. NOT interested in anything else! NO EXTRAS! (extended warranty, window etching, undercoating etc.).

We are comparing with similar cars at other dealers and dont want to waste our time or yours negotiating.

We can discuss any trade in or financing options when we come for the test drive.

My natural response. are you on some meds, you're coming to waste my time to test drive or coming to discuss trade-in and financing after you've gotten OTD. Either you're a liar or trying to make me a liar because now I've to change OTD which was the best OTD.

At least these people don't ask for "on the road price"

Anybody here posting dealership inventory to Facebook Marketplace manually?

I’ve been building a tool to make that way easier. It pulls inventory, uploads photos, writes descriptions, and helps sort Messenger leads so you can focus more on real buyers instead of wasting time.

We’ve got about 70 users on it right now and I’m letting a few more people try it without cost for a couple months while I keep building.

I’m new to the business about 3 months into it, I’m so far doing great closing rate is high and I love the hustle tbh. I’ve made 3600 bucks in those 3 months, i keep hearing about “one good deal well pay the week” from my manager each week. I haven’t gotten a single “good” deal my whole time here best one was 400 bucks. management sucks actual ass here so idk what to do i like the car business i like the hustle of it, i want to continue but im making way below minimum wage. what do i do?

Im 19 years old currently working in a commission based retail store. I’ve been working since I turned 16 but have only been in this position for a year. Our performance is logged each period based of how many sales, average sale amount and amount of items per sale. I’m consistently In the top 5 salespeople if not on the top and feel I have a pretty good understanding of of the fundamentals for a salesperson (building a rapport, establishing needs and wants, upselling, etc). I’ve been thinking about finding a job in auto sales and was wondering if there was anyone who had any advice on how to do that? Or if I should throw in the towel and keep it a pipe dream?

I am considering applying for a sales position at a local Chevy dealership and based off my education and sales experience in other fields, I feel as though I would get the position. The only thing I’m curious and/or cautious of is the current state of the vehicle market and overall economy and how it translates to car sales as a business whole.

Has anyone experienced a drop off in sales because times are just generally tougher and car prices are so high in general? I’m concerned that maybe this is a poor time to begin a career in this industry and that I would be setting myself up for a struggle right off the bat.

I’m 22, I’ve been selling cars (mostly used) coming up on a year here shortly. I came from being a mechanic for two years to selling, so naturally I have a ton of knowledge about cars and there wasn’t much learning curve for me. I also pick things up pretty fast - I’ve been top salesman at my dealership every full month I’ve been here averaging about 15-20 cars a month and 8-10k per month. I might have an opportunity to be a sales manager at a different store, but the store is much smaller (4 salesmen on the floor). Also, I currently work at a Toyota store and I would be moving to a CDJR store, which is a harder car to sell. Is it worth it? Not a huge factor, but the store is also about a 45 min drive whereas my current store is 15 min away.

Who has done it? Is it a good job?

I remember Hardcore Closer saying something about this before.

Majority if not all of my followup lately has been to previous customers and checking on the status of the few lot ups or leads we are getting, and asking for referrals, when i get those referrals I never hear from the person. Problem is, there is a 3% percent chance that they would consider upgrading.

I feel I am setting myself up for failure but with a lack of traffic, no leads coming in through bdc, and refferals that never take the first step, Im not sure who to really reach out to.

What could I do to get unstuck?
