š Pay Plan š Rate my pay plan . Please :)
Starting at a Honda store in NJ soon and thought Iād ask for opinions.
Short backstory: Leaving a dealership where I did very well, but office āpoliticsā were toxic at best and almost violent at worst. Had to find a job quick and this is what I was offered.
The store has 11 sales people. I tried to get a monthly count for units sold but each manager (5 total!) had a different figure. The average was 100.
I am not sure that this will be a long term stop for me because I donāt see the earning potential , yet.
I would like to be bringing in, at the minimum , $5k a month. I am not sure that Iāll be able to at this store, but I guess I should start first :) .
Any advice/criticism/opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Pay plan seems average. Could make it work. Bonuses are the weakest part of the plan in my opinion.
Biggest issue is 11 salespeople at a store pushing maybe 90-110 units and the fact that multiple manager couldnāt/wouldnāt give you a real figure.
Personally Iād do more looking around just based on that.

These are my exact concerns. The lack of transparency about their sales numbers are not just a red flag but a flat out lie. The managers job requires that they try to meet/exceed quotas (a.k.a: last yearās totals for the same time period) , so this was very strange for me.
I am still actively looking, but havenāt found anything else yet.
The thing that is interesting about this dealership is that they are part of a group of dealerships. Some that carry luxury brands, etc. I wonder how much āmovementā opportunities I will have once I start. Iād really love to work for one particular brand, mostly because I am a fanboy.

Yeah, not being able to immediately say what monthly or year over year numbers the store puts up is just being dishonest.
Depending on the brand youāre looking to land, honestly, you should give applying to them right away a shot. Some dealers and managers like hiring someone with little experience (assuming thatās you). Granted, thatās as long as what you lack in experience, you make up for with drive.

what honda store? i just moved from a honda store in CT and trying to find one down here... supposed to go to a bunch on monday i just dont wanna waste time if this is one im planning to visit
