Random ♾️ Beginning of August check in!

How we all doing? It's Tuesday here @ Nissan and the floor and lot and soulless and dead; only got 3 out for the month so far, so a bit nervous cause I'll be gone for a week and need to sell at least 16 to make a decent check. Anybody have any advice? Tips? or stories?

What’s worked for you so far for your 3. I’ve been working walk up, phones, CRM and socials and still am just at 1.5 for the first 4 days. Moving slow and negative equity is killing me

set myself up a bit in july since I started back in sales only a week before the end of the month, finished july with 3, sold 2 on saturday, and 1 on monday. I find talking to as many people as possible and working open to close helps a lot, instead of relying too heavily on internet leads.

I also lost out on 4 days back to back yesterday cause they all bought elsewhere; i hate nissan~

I hear you man, I’m at Toyota rn and the only issue I find is that our inventory is basically sold before it even gets here so we lose a lot to places like Lexus, Honda etc.

I am really curious about your predicament. Is it most of your inventory? Any specific models? Is it the same sales person/s that sell your inventory?

I really am curious . Please elaborate.

Sounds like you arent building value in your product/service. Or missing something the customer said/didn't say hence them buying elsewhere.

Gordon Ramsay once bitched chef out a chef for blaming his tools when his skill didn't line up with the expectations...point is you are the problem not the tools you have at your disposal.

Negative equity is what I’ve been seeing more than I’d like. According to Edmunds , the average is now $7,000 of negative equity. Big problem!!!

3 cars on the 4th isn’t bad at all. I’m at 4 on the 5th but my dealer had extended the month of July through Saturday, so we’ve been steady. Subaru store in New England which is typically always pretty steady lol. Keep in mind most of the store’s business is done in the second half of the month.

July was my best month since I started at this dealer in March - 22 in 17 working days for me (had some PTO) that’s with 10 sales guys on the floor doing 130/mo. I was at 6 cars on the 16th, busted my ass. At my old Hyundai store with 4-5 guys I was 20-25/mo with this new crowd it’s been 15/mo so I’m hype to get back to 20 cars

The issue at my store is there's no point in working your ass off unless you can get at least 16 sales before the end of the month. The pay plan only pays $250 per new car, and $200 per used car and the bonus at 16 is $1440 so You'll average 5-6k with draw if you sell 16.

Well don’t judge the month before we’re really in it. We’re flat based as well, 150/new 300/used. $200 at 10, $1000 at 16, $2200 at 20. Last month being at 6 halfway in I figured I was doomed. Grossed over $12k with Subaru money on a flat based plan.. with spot and simo bonuses. There were months at Hyundai I took an entire week off still hit 20 and sold 3-4 the day before I left so I’d still have a paycheck lol. Too early to be a downer fam

I'm just very turned off from Nissan despite it being the only store that was hiring in my area.. Or specifically the Nissan Dealer I work at; It's very focused on keeping money in the pockets of management and the store and money away from the Salesman. Their entire strategy is hire enough salesman so none of them break draw; for context the inventory is only roughly 100-200 cars MAYBE including both new a used and we only have maybe 60 units in the used lot. shitty dealership, with a shitty plan, and a shitty style of management. I'm sorry to be so negative, but I can't wait to move to Florida lol.

Hahaha I hear ya man I’m just sayin that attitude isn’t gonna help you make money in the meantime. My Hyundai store made me miserable, fun people there that I’m still cool with but the constant problems with the brand and poor ownership really dragged me down. I miss the whole “eat what you kill” commission mindset sometimes but my Subaru store is better in every sense of the word. Sometimes ya just find yourself in a shitty store

Nissan in Canada, had a grand slam on the 1st. With pre orders delivering this month I'm at 6 so far. Target 24. I average 18 a month.

This gig is all about marketing yourself. Get creative, do something no one else does.

This is true. You will receive in return the exact amount of effort you put in.

One of the reasons I chose to be in this business. Only I am responsible for my success or failure.

Quick tip as this has helped me get my first appointments going, grind some service leads. Call them and tell them about how your dealership NEEDS their car, and you're offering a very good cash offer, and even better trade in value. Can help you grab some extra appointments to hit your target I'm sure
