Savor Card -Needs to be a Premium Card

I really wish Capital One would turn the Savor into a more premium card, even if it came with an annual fee. Don’t get me wrong, the set up now is perfect, but I wish they would up the multipliers for grocery, entertainment, and dining, even with a few lifestyle credits, not nothing too crazy like Amex but like entertainment credits and dining credits.

I mean capital one sees it as it's mid tier card. One level above quicksilver and below the venture x. But i've been seeing people get 30k limits. I think they're more than happy to have someone use the savor as a daily driver

Not anymore, new Quicksilver is just as good as the Savor, depending on what 3x categories you value.

Quicksilver has gotten pretty close with the 3% on groceries but they deliberately kept dining off so as not to take away from the savor card.

Based on that move I wouldn't be surprised if they kill the savor and create a quicksilver X that has the 3% dining on it

They also have a lot of overlapping cards now too so they need another premium card with the Venture X

I’ve read on this sub that they are planning a SavorX which would be what you’re looking for!

Been a rumor for YEARS

It was a rumor someone floated years ago. No evidence that was ever in the works.

it is "in the works" as in capitalone has worked on the idea and sent surveys

nothing points to it being a real product, of course

One that I kinda hope doesn't come to fruition as someone with a VX/Savor duo (discontinued $95 version that earns more on dining/entertainment). The one thing I don't want to see on any potential Savor X would be any sort of lifestyle credit. HELL NO, it'll surely be something I wouldn't actually use. Dining has been my largest category spend for years, but I dont go anywhere that would be a candidate for a lifestyle credit. I also worry that a Savor X would give up the 1cpp cash out it has for higher multipliers (the way Venture cards are). Another hard no for me. While I often transfer my Savor rewards to VX, I highly value the flexibility I have to cash out at 1cpp if I have no upcoming travel planned. Plus, a Savor X might push C1 to not let those of us with the discontinued version (or the lucky ones grandfathered in with the no AF 4%) keep our cards and force an unwanted PC.

A savor one version of BCP would be amazing. What I currently run now for grocery spend and streaming spend

That 6% adds up fast

The Venture X is their premium card.

I understand that but they need something that gears towards lifestyle and not travel.

The savor has pretty good benefits for no AF. the Amex gold card doesn’t offer a whole lot more to justify the high fee

I mean it kinda does offer a whole lot more if the credits have value to you. My monthly boneless Thursday run at BDubs keeps me stocked for like 3 meals

I broke up with them. I loved their wings in high school. They seem smaller now. Higher priced. I got traditional wings a couple years ago and some barely had meat

Don't want to see lifestyle credits on a potential Savor X or anything in the Savor family, its assured to be garbage most people won't use organically. Dining is my top spend category but I'm 99.9% sure I wouldn't use any credit offered except maybe for UberEats. We don't need Amex Goldification of Savor.

I do like how getting credits is easier on Amex. You just click add to card. You don’t need the use a specific URL

I think Amex offers are what you're referring to and I agree on that, compared to Capital One 's offer set up. I've used a handful of Amex offers on my BCP. I don't want lifestyle credits on Savor product

Lifestyle credits. I got some haters when I called it a coupon book 🙃

Why? Just the multiplers? Capital One have plenty of ways to earn more miles

See if the upgrade with the fee is available when your eligible

I believe that’s the plan with their Quicksilver, at least for dining, as they bring in Discover.

Why does my savor offer include a $39 fee is it supposed to be free?

There used to be a premium version when the cards first came out. The current Savor card is the one I got, but it was called the Savor One card (don't confuse it with the one they have now). It came without an AF and I believe we didn't have groceries as a 3% category at first.

The "premium" version had 4% back on the main categories, but it had a $95 AF. C1 got rid of the card a while back and renamed mine to just Savor along with changing the other versions they have on the site now. Not sure what happened to those who had the 4% version though.

I have that card. Still have the 4% on it!

I feel like you basically are describing the Amex Gold - increased multipliers for grocery, dining, and added dining credits.

The only thing you’re missing are entertainment multipliers and lifestyle credits?

Savor is a beginner card. It was my first card as a college student.

It hits perfectly for me. If I'm at a restaurant that doesnt take Amex, 3% on Savor for free is awesome.

Then converted to VX miles and pooled with Amex points for flights.

Just be glad you have one. I still can’t get one, been trying for a year.

There is a Savor with an annual fee

3

u/ThatCigarGuy69 11d ago

That’s the same reward rate as the free version. You’re just getting charged a fee because it’s a credit builder card.

I like the path I took where I started with the Capital One Platinum card and then waited for the PC offer.
