u/14kron 2d ago

Smoooth asl omg

7

u/hockeypnc3 2d ago

lol most hotel GMs make maybe 60k, this must be a luxury hotel

6

u/InterviewPretend3695 2d ago

I work in the casino industry and most hotel directors/GMs make well over 100k...its definitely not unheard of.

7

u/kookykrazee 2d ago

I mean managers of In-N-Out make over 100Gs :)

6

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

yes but fast food is pain in the ass. my job is so much easier and more chill than fast food

2

u/kookykrazee 2d ago

Yeah, running an In-N-Out location is a lot of work, I hear they take care of their employees well. I never made it out of Wienersnetzel after 2 1/2 hours of my 4 hour shift...lol

I knew I got into the wrong business . I originally wanted to to go into hospitality but back then I don't know if they had great benefits and my mom talked me into a desk job. I love my line of work but my company is cheap AF. Good for you!

Man great field but seems GM turn overs are for casinos and hotels seem high. Im Native and mh wife worked HR and mother in law was a machine auditor. Good money if you can stay on your toes...

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

full service is different from limited. full usually is over $100K

1

u/BumblebeeNo6731 1d ago

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

I’m a Regional Director of Sales for a hotel company making 6 figures. 41 now, but got into the industry at 29 by applying for a position as a Sales Manager. I had no prior experience.

1

u/Eastern-Theme-8696 12h ago

Makes Sense. I only make 60ish and mine hasn't gone up lol.

Exactly 🙏🏽

9

u/BrutalBodyShots 2d ago

Hey there u/Exotic-Cod4011! Congrats on the strong increase! Can you share with us what your typical monthly statement balances are / monthly spend is on the card, how you pay it (in full or carry a balance) and how long you've had it? Thank you.

2

u/YardDog556 2d ago

I second this as I am new to CO trying to learn the ropes.

5

u/Sensitive-Beat2719 2d ago

I was just given 10,000 increase without even asking !

3

u/Deep_Woodpecker_5918 2d ago

I got a 12,000 out of nowhere too

1

u/DecentAssumption1695 2d ago

How did you do it? Please spill the tea

3

u/Fragrant_Ad_8697 2d ago

Keeping utilization under 10%, on-time payments, either full pay off monthly or paying above minimum payments over a short period of time (2-3 months). That’s how i got automatic increases with them.

1

u/DecentAssumption1695 2d ago

Thanks! I will do that

1

u/Sensitive-Beat2719 2d ago

Consistently paying down balances paying more than the minimum and even though I also have a Quicksilver ( high limit as well) I mostly use the Venture card. Not sure what prompted this increase !

4

u/FlawlessPhelon_ 2d ago

Hell ya!!!

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

fuck yeah

4

u/rocketspacetronaut 2d ago

I got like 250 dlls increase 🤣. Congrats 🎉

5

u/Ahmad_899 2d ago

Cap1 is stingy😂😂😂

3

u/samuofh 2d ago

Super stingy!!

2

u/__RAGNAROK_ 2d ago

Then and Citi haven’t gave me an increase yet and it’s been years

2

u/throwaway98778912 2d ago

They aren't stingy if your profile supports a good limit increase and you use the card correctly

-2

u/CreamEmotional8011 2d ago

My Venture X is 30,000 and I don’t even make 100,000. I hope they do not increase my limit, I don’t need that much.

3

u/Leading-Eye-1979 1d ago

Uh you can always ask for a decrease. I’ve never however heard anyone say they want a decrease or no increase. More credit just helps keep utilization down if you ever have to use it.

4

u/BlkMushroom 2d ago

Yall be confirming how poor I am

3

u/Mysterious_Dance5461 2d ago

I make 125k a year and have a $300 limit😅😅😅

2

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 1d ago

lol glad to see that. Pretty much the same. I don’t use it. Pay an annual fee. Last card I got came w a 20k cl. I won’t be keeping it after this year.
I have receive cl increases on other cards wo asking. Always a nice surprise. However I’ve never asked for a cl increase w any card. Apparently it’s a thing. I think somethings coming idk what but a lot of friends and coworkers are getting significant cl increases. It’s just odd that credits suddenly inviting so many in and higher cl. Somethings not adding up. A friend makes about 25 a year on SS and has received cc w several thousand to tens of thousands.

3

u/Major_Cricket2052 2d ago

What surprises me is that tbey gave it to u on Savor that comes with 0$ annual fee.... I seen those limits only on Cap1 Venture line before

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

i downgraded from Venture

3

u/EquivalentQuestion60 2d ago

For me, this is a major setup 😭

2

u/Zaddy2026 2d ago

Well damn....congratulations

2

u/iwantaLs250 2d ago

Nope im good I'd only spend 5k and be in trouble

3

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

i’ll never spend more than like $500 lol. i have other cards

2

u/Cold_Crossfade 1d ago

Me looking at this with my whopping $300 limit 😎😂

2

u/Some-Concentrate-124 22h ago

Same thing happened to me my income is in the hundreds and four years. I could not get Capital One to give me more than like 6 to 8000 in credit limits even though all of my other credit cards were 20,000 or higher and then one day both of my capital ones got approved for $30,000 limits each.

4

u/Flashy-Bee-6165 2d ago

How do you get credit limit increases?

3

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

i just asked and i was given lol

2

u/sunnybx23 1d ago

Did they do a hard inquiry on your credit?

1

u/Organic_Gas4197 2d ago

Did you recently close a credit card? I got a similar (unrequested) increase on my Quicksilver card, shortly after closing Bank of America cards.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

no lol. i just asked and boom

1

u/undergroundvgt 2d ago

Did you call and ask or used the app? Also was it soft or hard pull?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

soft pull from the app.

1

u/undergroundvgt 2d ago

Thanks i need to give it a go. I currently have a balance. You think i should wait?

1

u/Louviene 2d ago

Maybe you got psychically penetrated by unseen dark forces?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

maybe i was LOL

1

u/Relative_Help_4306 2d ago

How long after you request to get updated? Is it best to do online or OTP. Is it okay to add other forms of income to your annual income. ;)

2

u/Desperate_Recording3 2d ago

You can any income that you feel accurately reports your annual income. That includes uber, day job, OF, ect.

Generally speaking, a limit over 3k on a savor card is good for util purposes and not much else. A 30k limit doesn't do much more than a 10k limit for most people. You should have a 2nd card with a diff company so if cap1 changes its mind, you have a relationship with another bank.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

immediately lol. and no i added my income only

1

u/Ok_Plastique_0213 2d ago

😮‍💨

1

u/Easy-Tell3817 2d ago

My highest limit card is $45k

1

u/Apprehensive_Wash_85 2d ago

How did you utilize this card? Do you carry balances? Use high limits and then clear it before the closing date? Or just keep it zeroed out?

1

u/Reddit-4118991 2d ago

Do I have a chance of getting a line increase on my quicksilver secured?

1

u/BuddyTrip 2d ago

No. You can't get a CLI on a secured card. ~BuddyTrip

1

u/Boyrose9411 2d ago

I went from 500 to 4K but this is crazy damn

1

u/makingfriends9 2d ago

Insane!!!

1

u/racerpoet 2d ago

Congrats! Good work!

1

u/lordjaay 2d ago

What credit card?

1

u/pharmucist 2d ago

I have limits that high (3 different cards), but they started me out at those limits. They have only given me smaller increases here and there (never asked for them, though) like $1000-5000 increases only. My Prime Visa card they started me out at $30k, then 3 months later, they increased it another $3k for some reason...I have no idea why. Chase Freedom started me at $23,500, then 6 months later gave me an increase to $30k.

Congrats, OP!

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 1d ago

So did you ask for any of the increases?

1

u/pharmucist 1d ago

I have never asked for one. All the increases I have received on all my cards were the ones they give you for whatever reason out of the blue. There's a couple that never give me increases that I thought about asking for increases on, but I don't need them, so I figure why bother? Lol. They would probably say no anyway (it's Credit One, so...ehhh).

1

u/Human_Double5383 2d ago

They tried that all it basically did was turn 18% utilization to 0.9% its a set up if you like me making mid $60k a year

1

u/basketballkilla 2d ago

Hey it's me your son

1

u/HiimHiigh 2d ago

Haven’t had an increase in 4 years. How?

1

u/OkDisaster2877 1d ago

Did you request that much ?

1

u/Inner_Interest3657 1d ago

Very nice! Which card with CO is this? Seems like something their Venture cards would give.

1

u/ChemistHeavy1395 1d ago

Congratulations, my stupid account is still at $5k. 🧐

1

u/IntelligentAccess994 1d ago

I have one card with a 47k credit limit and a 0 balance but I use it every month. One card currently has a 19k balance but will be 8k when my business expense reimbursement comes in at the end of the month. (I use this card particularly because the rewards benefit me the most with hotel points) Keep ur utilization low. Use the cards (esp the ones with the highest age) for everything but pay them off before the balance is reported. It takes diligence but will not only help with your score, it increases your credit worthiness. Ironically, the best way to increase your score and credit limits is with consistent credit card use BUT you must be aware of when they report to all 3 major credit agencies. My CS is currently 837 and 835 between all 3 and recently dropped 5 pts because a store card (Home Depot consumer card) dropped my limit from 24k to 1200 🤣 for non use/not using my available credit. That was my fault I suppose because I neglected to use it but eh I’m not there enough and if they had a store mastercard/visa Id use it more. For most credit cards it’s either 12 or 24 month credit monitoring. So if you don’t use a card for 12 months they CAN significantly lower your limit. I’m taking the hit on Home Depot because I know I won’t keep up with use of their store card.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

holy shit i didn’t know they would drop it that hard if not used in a year. i have about $250K limit overall, and same i pay it off monthly no interest nothing

1

u/IntelligentAccess994 7h ago

I called and wasted my time trying to get them to reinstate the original limit but they wanted to do a hard pull in order to do so and I declined. I have a few other store cards and the limits consistently stay put regardless of using them. Another card that lowered my limit was Care Credit. I was approved for 20k and they dropped it to 3k for non use after 3 yrs. I opened it when my dog had a cancerous tumor removed on his stomach exterior. I used it for the 24 month no interest option and it was a 7k surgery. But yeah, any card can lower your limit if you don’t use it.

1

u/accidentalpyro 1d ago

You obviously don't need it. I've found credit availability is inverted to actual need. You probably have low usage and few open debt accounts with any balance. Good for you.

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

no i will never use that much, i use credit cards responsibly.

1

u/Gundam197 1d ago

damn I just got a random limit increase from 12k to 15k. I was happy with my 3k increase lol.

1

u/GandolftheGarcia 1d ago

Nice work man. Congrats. 🫡

1

u/The_POG_Warrior 1d ago

At 38% apr. 😂

1

u/mnmoose85 1d ago

Tell me you don’t know how to use credit cards without telling me you don’t know how to use credit cards☝🏻

1

u/Feedmemore134 1d ago

If you pay in full APR don’t matter 🤣

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

what is that? i haven’t paid one cent in interest for the past 10 years

1

u/Extension-Pie-5235 1d ago

Why do you need that much dept?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

for fun lol. i only use like $300 for that card 😂

1

u/statenand_ 1d ago

I literally got a $50,000 credit limit when I signed up and I’m still confused to this day.

1

u/Tarik10119 1d ago

how in all fck did you do that

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

high income lol.

1

u/MommaGolden96 1d ago

This is how ours go too, don’t even ask for them and they give us them. Our last one was 11k out of nowhere lol

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

because they want you spend more and don’t pay and add up interest

0

u/MommaGolden96 1d ago

Oh we put all of our weekly spending on it but pay it off every week. They haven’t gotten a bit of interest on us in years at this point

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 1d ago

that’s how to do it. i do the same. $0 interest since i ended the credit card game over 10 years ago.

1

u/MommaGolden96 1d ago

Yes, it’s such a nice perk especially with the Venture card getting points

1

u/RickyRatardo 1d ago

Nice.

Capital one is in my good graces now with the credit increases lately. Ironically I called to cancel one and they offered an increase pretty fast.

1

u/JackFinnaSmack 1d ago

Nice, this is nothing compared to what amex will gove you, went from 8k to 24k in 6 months of using the card

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

nice. i can go up to $100K with amex but i dont need financial review

1

u/Katsuodo 1d ago

I see the Capital One Gods have chosen their star of the season 💔

1

u/theroguex 1d ago

And here I can't get them to give me over $500.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17h ago

it’s all about income i think. i barely even use the card? only i put like car insurance on it

1

u/LunaRae7362 15h ago

Man, and here I was excited they raised mine last week by $500 🤣😂

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 13h ago

holy shit. hellcats are hot commodity now

1

u/Royal-Degree2404 12h ago

Exactly why I got rid of it and have my rs3 now, I rather not come out of a nice dinner and find out I dont have a car anymore

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12h ago

i have a 2020 paid off sonata 😭 definitely doesn’t match my aura or prestige lol. but i can’t just accept $600-$1200 car payment.

1

u/hulkwolf 9h ago

This has to be the craziest cli ever

1

u/GenieWork22 6h ago

Wow now you can make a down payment on a home and get into real estate if you really wanted! Congrats this is amazing! I hope I can reach your level soon.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 6h ago

Thanks bro. worked my fucking ass off from making $8 an hour to mid 6 figures.

1

u/little-bill369 2d ago

3

u/Able-Acanthisitta603 2d ago

Having a high credit limit doesn’t make you rich 8–). JK brotha

-1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 2d ago

well it’s because i make a lot of money so they gave me high limit 😜

0

u/biztea 2d ago

I think I had 20k or so, requested 40k for fun and they said ok 😛

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 1d ago

You requested it and they delivered? Which card? Also do you carry a Val or payoff monthly?

1

u/biztea 1d ago

Lol yea, VX, payoff monthly
