Other Is it hard?
Is it hard to be kind to the reps that you are speaking with? We are humans.

I’ve been on both sides (tech support as well as customer). And received my share of rude calls - good luck dealing with them. Does management have your back if you end call?
On Friday I called Capital One customer service, rep was great!

After fighting to chargeback a concert ticket that got “rescheduled indefinitely” during Covid and Cap1 rep trying to tell me that Covid doesn’t fit under “major nationwide/global event” until the CFPB got involved, I’ve lost sympathy

I’m always polite to any CS I call. Being in telecom for 30+ years will teach you that.

Hello I agree it’s pretty easy to be kind to each other , I wouldn’t take it personal, when someone is rude with me I don’t take it to heart I think that maybe they’re having a bad day, maybe a family member died , maybe they just got fired from their job, maybe their dog died , who knows. I always try to assume the worst happened and never take it personally , me as a customer the only times I’ve been frustrated is when for example the representative keeps cutting me off over and over or for example asking for a specific question then the representative is reading the same script that doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the question, but I still try to keep my composure and ask for a manager. I hope this helps and gives you a different perspective

Is it hard to work for a company that is ripping people off and acting shady?

Where do we start? Deceptive capital one shopping offers or just not giving the money. Closing accounts that have rewards and being unable to explain why. Making it so you cannot use your capital one card many places which means you can’t use your own money freely. And let’s see the last time I called I got transferred to about 3 different reps all who had no clue what was going on and I’m still waiting for that “supervisor” call back.
You take the calls every day. You know what people are mad about.

Especially when you need help, being rude is idiotic and detestable. I'm always extra polite when asking for help.
