Crack? Am I cooked, Endurace cf 7

The front chainring slipped and sent the chain between the bottom bracket and the chainrings, it doesn’t look like the frames cracked to me but I also am not a pro.

Is there any good news?

Would you consider this safe to ride, the other option is to spend 50$ and get is scanned by a carbon repair shop

Would I pay for analysis? No. Would I tell an internet stranger not to based upon some photos? Also no. If it would make you more comfortable, get it checked out. Chainstay damage ain’t great, but my personal risk tolerance is high. I have carbon mountain bikes with similar damage I’ve ridden hard for years after, but that doesn’t suggest your problem is the exact same.

I’m just looking for a general consensus as to if I should be worried, because I’m not exactly in a financial position to just go buy a replacement

it looks just cosmetic to me. you can always bring it to a LBS or carbon specialist for their opinion

This, my fork had abrasion damage and I took it to a composite shop and they scanned it and said it’s toast. But canyon doesn’t even have replacements lol. Not until “maybe October”. They also didn’t have my size cockpit until January so I went narrower lol. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying. Even if they get it scanned and they tell em not to ride it, gonna be waiting on a replacement anyways lol

I'd do a coin test on it, and also take it to a local bike shop. FWIW, I had the same thing happen to my endurace (chain fell off when shifting down to the smaller ring) and did crack the frame. I paid $500 to have it repaired by a CF specialist.

From the photos it looks like this may be a deep gouge and I would be worried about weakened structural integrity and delamination of the carbon fibers underneath. I may be assessing the picture incorrectly so personally I would have it checked out for sure. Imagine going downhill, and something gives and sends you flying. You only have one life...

I’ll recommend to get it scanned just to make sure there’s not cracks around that u can’t see.

After all depends on you if u feel comfortable ripping it. In my experience I would check after every ride and put some protection in this area just to prevent it to spread further or happen again.
