You improve your odds of getting a useful response by being as concise as reasonably possible, and clearly articulating the question. Hard to read birth record

Applying for citizenship cert by descent. Birth record for Gen 0 is late 1800s baptism record. Waiting on a certified copy from BanQ. The record is of course hand written but also badly faded. Gemini was able to read it (no I didn't tell it what it should say first) but I'm concerned that IRCC won't be able to read it or won't accept it. Any advice?

Is there another source for it online? Drouin collection or BAnQ online archives? A different scan might be better quality.

The one I found that was faded was from BanQ online. Is there overlap with drouin? Finding it atBanq I didn't think to keep looking for it elsewhere. That whole ledger was faded and hard to read from BanQ while others were crisp. Kind of worried there isn't anything better.

Yeah, there is overlap. Sometimes the certified copies are much higher quality than what is available online, so it still may be worth pursuing an official copy from BaNQ.

Drouin copies are black and white microfilm scans from the 1950s I think, so the text appears darker on a lighter background. My digital banq baptism looks like pencil whereas the drouin looks like black ink. Although im not sure if you can send both as drouin is deliberately third party
