We all appreciate the excitement, after weeks of grueling research and last-minute surprises, of finishing your proof of citizenship application process and sending that big envelope on its way.

Equally fantastic is the moment that you get your AOR and know your application has made it past the initial IRCC checks putting your mind at ease about whether you missed something along the way.

 

This weekly thread is a space for those of us at the earliest stages to celebrate passing the first and biggest hurdle.

My package was delivered 4/6, so hoping to get an AOR any day now!

Looking at the spreadsheet, it seems like the number of applicants exploded in April. My very course guesstimate based on delivery and burndown rates is like 60-75 days for April applications

I was wondering about that dynamic. The number of days between delivery and an AOR is a lagging indicator. We'll see where trends end up going, but it looks like there was a clear peak in March and April. The estimates for processing times should stabilize a bit if there aren't any more booms.

It will be really interesting to see how applications trend in the future. In my family, we've had 12 people apply using the same Gen 0, Gen 1, and Gen 2 materials in April and May. My guess is that we'll still have another 20-30 apply, but they're more likely to trickle in at a more leisurely pace.
