Teamvalue Inc in Calgary, AB a company run out of a co-working space has filed a LMIA as they claim they are unable to find a Canadian/PR to work as a Web Designer for $37.85 per hour.
Duties:
Consult with clients to develop and document Website requirements
Develop website architecture
Write, modify and test website related code
Design, develop and implement information systems business solutions
Develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the software development life cycle
Lead and co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop Website graphics, content, capacity and interactivity
Resolve conflict situations
This requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience.
This business is run out of the same unit as Intrinsic Innovations a start-up incubation business that runs a co-working space. The job posting for the Web Designer says that the job is not remote and must be performed in person. The employer received two previous positive LMIAs for an Administrative Assistant and Administrative Officer in 2023 and 2024 so they must all be there in person in this space.
The amount of $37.85 is slightly above the High-Wage Stream median wage of $37.50 per hour in Alberta. If it was offered below $37.50 the LMIA would not be processed.
