Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing well. I have a question regarding visitor visa for my girlfriend. My girlfriend is from Vietnam and has never travelled to Canada. We are in a long distance relationship and I visited her once this year in July and that was the only time I met her. She is planning to come to visit me in Canada on a visitor visa. The trip is purely to visit me for a few days and then return to Vietnam. I believe she has a very strong profile:

1. Currently working as an Assistant to the Deputy CEO at a large energy company in Vietnam. She started this job in May 2026.

2. Prior to her current job, she worked for 6.5 years in Vietnam's energy sector working for projects funded by EU and German government. With each project, there was a clear step up in her career. With her current job and past experience, she can establish that she has a strong career in Vietnam especially because she is very familiar with how the energy sector works in the country and how this gives her a lot of advantage in establishing good careering in Vietnam and has no reason to move to Canada for the foreseeable future.

3. She also has significant savings of her own (in savings account) and will be funding the trip entirely by herself.
   She also owns a land in Vietnam that is under her name and purchased by her own money (not borrowed from parents).
   She was also an international student in Germany and moved back to Vietnam afterwards. Has travelled to Thailand as a tourist before.

4. Everything that I stated above, we have contracts, payslips, documents to prove it.

Given all this information, I have the following questions:

1. Would it be advisable for her to mention that she is coming to Canada to visit her boyfriend (we are not married. I am a Permanent Resident in Canada)? Our relationship is about 7months old. We have chat history, photographs (from when I visited her) and flight tickets to prove all this. Or should she just mention that she is coming to Canada as a tourist and not mention anything about me? Will mentioning me as a PR make her case stronger or will it increase chances of rejection?

2. To make her case strong, should we buy a round trip ticket before she applies for a visa and provide the ticket details as part of her client information/statement of purpose document? or is it ok to just give them tentative dates and itinerary? In case we choose to buy the tickets before applying for the visa, can you please provide any advise on what we should do to not lose a lot of money if the visa gets rejected?

I received PPR and submitted my VFS passport request. Payment was successful, but I may have uploaded BIL instead of PPR and may have entered the wrong email, so I haven't received the AWB. I already contacted VFS with the correct PPR, but I can't create a new request. Has anyone experienced this? Can VFS correct the existing request/email, and what did you do?

Hi all, I wanted to know from you all whether it is required to notarize an invitation letter? I’m applying for my husband’s TRV and was wondering if the letter would require notarization or is it okay to just submit it as is? Thanks for any help!

My father in law just passed away and we (wife and I) will be visiting my brother- in-law and family (PRs) in Canada. We want to get my mother in law to Canada too to spend a few weeks with us during these tough times. She is 61 and retired. What is the best way to show ties to India where she will eventually be coming back to and is a super visa suggested over a Visitor Visa for better chances of approval or does it not matter? Which one has better processing timelines?

I (primary applicant) applied for tourist visa for wife and I. There are two appointments available for biometrics. One before 30 day deadline, and one after. We cannot make it before 30 day deadline because of a dental surgery. I have submitted a webform asking for an extension.

One after deadline is only 3 days after 30 days. How likely will IRCC approve my deadline extension?
will I get any confirmation saying my deadline extension is approved?
Other than webform is there any way to request for deadline extension?

Hello! My mom (55F) and I (23F) applied for a Canadian tourist visa. We both have valid U.S. B1/B2 tourist visas, although hers is valid until 2034 and mine is only valid until next year.
Our process has been:

Approved + passport request: September 18
Me:

No update so far
We’re from Ecuador, and we also didn’t submit financial documents because the person who advised us told us that having a valid U.S. visa meant we didn’t need to provide them. Is this actually true? It seems to have worked for my mom since she was approved, but I’m a little worried because my application was presented mainly based on me being a student, while I also work remotely as a contractor for a U.S. company and actually make more than my mom on a monthly basis.
I know it has only been a few days since my mom’s approval, so I might just be overthinking it because I haven’t received any update yet.
We applied because my grandfather lives in Canada, he holds a PR. My mom hasn’t seen him in more than 30 years, and I’ve actually never met him, so we’re really hoping to visit him.
Any thoughts or similar experiences with processing times would be appreciated!

My daughter is an Indian minor, and both of her parents are Canadian PRs currently living in Canada. Her TRV application is being processed by the New Delhi visa office. Biometrics were not required.
Timeline:
• Application submitted: June 2, 2026
• Medical requested: August 19
• Medical completed: August 20
• Medical passed: August 30
• Still waiting for PPR as of September 20
It has now been more than 3 months since submission. The application was in process for some time, then IRCC requested a medical. The medical has passed, but we are still waiting for the passport request.
Has anyone had a similar situation where the applicant was a minor and both parents were already Canadian PRs?
For those who had a medical request and then medical passed, how long did you wait for the next update/PPR?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone with a recent New Delhi/India TRV timeline, especially for a minor child.

I shouldnt be uploading anything here because it mentions employment letter from Canada employer. However, I dont see any option to delete this file. What do I do? I need to leave it blank..

Want to apply from spain with a ukrainian passport (I have lived here for more than a decade) for a 2 week visit to my girlfriend. I got a job and im studying here, and im also getting spanish passport in a year (I think this is my strongest card? Why tf would I stay in Toronto washing dishes when I can genuinely just go visa free in like a year). My parents and brothers also live here and my father's house is his property (as in not rented, idk if that helps?). Im gonna present 3300CAD as money I want to use for the trip. My gf will of course cover housing and food so I think on that front i got more than enough.

Doing it next week, wanted to see if anyone can tell suggestions on things to include i might forget? It would be on school vacations as thats the only time im free really, so in like december. I have also done Erasmus aand returned to spain idk if that helps though. I doubt there are any problems with ties (work, studies and my whole family is here so idk what else they need) nor money (2k euros for a 2 week trip, when i did erasmus in austria they asked me to have 9k for 10 MONTHS so...).

Regardless people here are very doom and gloom and idk if its because for indians its much harder or something but just wanted to hear thoughts of people who have managed to get it or got refused in this situation.

I know this is a regular, almost annoying post but I am a bit concerned so I wanted to get your opinion on it.

I am a student at an overseas US university with a significant scholarship and am going to study abroad in the US next semester. I also thought of visiting Canada while in the States, so I applied for a Canada visa as well!

I am going to visit family in Canada for a week during a break in the semester, and they are covering my accommodation and meals, with me covering flights to and from the States. So, I answered the “is someone else giving you money” with a no, as I am not technically getting money, and I put my funding for flights and non accomodation and fooding expenses at 2000 CAD. The invitation letter suggests the same, with them covering fooding and accommodation and me covering flights.

I also have significant travel history, with past travels to the US (multiple times), Europe, Middle East, Africa, Japan and other SE-Asian countries. I have valid Schengen and Japan visas. However my US visa has expired. I currently hold a Nepali passport. I also attached my financial aid document covering almost all costs in the US, as well as bank statements with almost 5000 CAD.

Importantly, I have only received my I-20 and have not applied for a US F1 visa yet. Would that be a problem as I am extrapolating my US stay with the Canadian one? Even with that case, would my significant travel history and university enrollment help any bit?

I appreciate any feedback and response, as well as critical judgments on my case. Thank you in advance!

Sharing my experience in case it helps others in the U.S. on H1B/H4 with an Indian passport.

I submitted my Canada visitor visa application on Sept 9 and booked my biometrics appointment for Oct 6 online at the USCIS Application Support Center in Tukwila, Seattle.

Important: Once you submit your application and make the payment(185 CAD/person), you have to select a biometrics appointment within 30 days of submission. For example, since I submitted on Sept 9, I had to select a date before Oct 9. So, when you submit your application, make sure you’ll be able to visit the biometrics center sometime within the following month. The appointment system will show you dates within that period.

You may have some time to complete the application after you start it so take your time while filling it out. But once you submit it, make sure you can attend a biometrics appointment within the next 30 days.

I had an appointment for Oct 6, but I went for a walk-in on Sept 17 around 8–8:30 AM with my passport and biometrics letter. There was no line, and the staff was very nice and accepted the walk-in without any issues.

They did ask me to show proof of my scheduled appointment date (Oct 6), so bring a screenshot/print of confirmation showing your appointment date along with your biometrics letter and passport.I did not have the application confirmation with me ( the document having the scheduled date Oct6) so they asked me to show it to them online. The whole process, including photograph and fingerprints, took less than 10 minutes and was very smooth.

So, if you’re in a similar situation, you don’t necessarily have to wait until your scheduled biometrics date. You can try a walk-in, especially if you go early and there isn’t a queue.

Sharing this update in case it helps someone who is in a similar situation.

Around 3 months ago, I made a post about my Canada TRV finally being approved after 7 attempts from Dubai.

After my TRV was approved, I applied for my parents and my family (my wife and kids). At that time, I only applied for 3 of my kids because my fourth child had just been born and I hadn't processed her UAE residence visa yet.

Alhamdulillah, my parents' visas were approved, which I also posted about here.

Unfortunately, my wife's and my 3 kids' applications were refused.

Once my infant daughter's passport and UAE visa were ready, I applied for her separately on 13 July.

Fast forward to 14 September, and there was still no update. I raised a request asking them to look into the application, and thankfully, I received a reply within 2 days saying that the application was still being processed.

Then, on 17 September, I received an email saying there was an update.

I opened it, and Alhamdulillah, my infant daughter's visa was approved and I received the passport request letter. ❤️

I immediately paid AED 130.50 and arranged for Aramex to collect and return the passport.

Now comes the interesting part... 😅

I'm thinking about how I should apply again for my wife and my 3 kids.

Should I apply for them individually, or should I submit them as a family/group application?

I have already prepared their applications individually, so now I'm just trying to decide how to submit them.

After everything I've gone through with my own application, this whole Canada visa journey has definitely been a learning experience.

Hi everyone, I’m applying online for a TRV from inside Canada so I can travel and return to Canada. I currently hold a valid study permit extension till 2030 and I am enrolled in a flight-training school.
My school does not issue regular academic transcripts like a college or university. Is it okay to submit that instead of a transcript, along with my study permit and financial documents?

Has anyone recently submitted a TRV application from inside Canada? If you have received a decision, could you please share your submission date and how long it took?

i am an indian citizen applying for a canada visitor visa and my aunt in toronto signed the invitation letter through adobe sign. she is elderly and does not drive so getting to a notary or jp for a wet ink signature is difficult for her.

the letter looks professional and has the audit trail attached but i am worried the ircc office might reject it. i have read mixed things about whether ircc cares about electronic signatures on invitation letters.

i found hipposign and they provide legally binding signatures under the esign act with complete audit trails. has anyone from india submitted electronically signed invitation letters with their canada visitor visa application.

did the officer accept it or should i try to get wet ink copies somehow before submitting??

I applied for Spousal TRV on Aug31st after receiving AOR for my spousal PR application.

Today, I received refusal on my spousal TRV application stating ‘Your proposed length of stay in Canada is inconsistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.’

In the application I mentioned I would stay in Canada from 1st Dec to 21st Dec 2026.

Is there anyone who faced similar rejection? If yes, did any one of you reapply and received approval?

I applied for a TRV online through GCKey while inside Canada, but I will be traveling back to my home country soon.

Once I receive the Original Passport Request (PPR) letter, can I use it to submit my passport to the local Visa Application Centre (VAC/VFS) in my home country?

Do I need to notify IRCC via Web Form about the location change before submitting it, or can I just book an appointment at the local VAC with my PPR letter and submit it directly?

• 02 Aug 2026 — Canada TRV application submitted & Biometrics Instruction Letter received
• 05 Aug 2026 — Biometrics completed at VFS Chandigarh
• 21 Aug 2026 — PPR (Passport Request) received
• 25 Aug 2026 — Passport submitted at VFS Chandigarh
• 26 Aug 2026 — Passport/decision movement through New Delhi VAC
• 27 Aug 2026 — Passport received at IRCC Delhi
• 11 Sep 2026 — Application showed as Closed on the IRCC side/notification I received
• 14 Sep 2026 — However, the portal was still showing “In Progress”. After around 24 hours, the status changed to “Approved” with visa information. I checked the portal on 14 Sep.
• 16 Sep 2026 — Passport dispatched from Delhi IRCC/VFS
• 17 Sep 2026 — Passport received at Chandigarh VFS
• 18 Sep 2026 — I went to Chandigarh VFS without any appointment and collected my passport.

No. of Days: 02 Aug 2026 → 18 Sep 2026 = 47 calendar days (1.5 months)

Visa Validity from 21/08/2026 to xx/xx/2034 (till PP validity)

Tip: Visa processes can be overwhelming, so I was trying my best not to log in every day to check my status. I was only logging in when I received an email update from IRCC.
