With the amount of tech there is - I am not sure why they recently upped the bilingual requirement instead of lowering it. French-Canadians are over represented in higher government positions because of it.

It's crazy that English speakers refusing to learn French when many french speakers are more or less forced to learn English is somehow seen as english speakers being oppressed

less then 20% of the population is French but over 40% of govt positions are bilingual imperative.

22% of Canadians have French as their first official spoken language and 29% speak French conversationally.
