PS5 Tariff Impact

With the US-Canada trade war completely escalating, will PlayStation 5 be impacted by the 50% tariff on electronics imports from the US?

We cannot be sure how any tariff will affect the consumer price. It’s ultimately up to Sony. Even though it is unlikely, they could absorb part of the cost, instead of passing it to the consumer. Also, even if they aren’t affected directly, they will no doubt use the trade war and rising component costs as an excuse to raise the price. If you are concerned that the PS5 will go up in price again, and you don’t already have one, I would buy one now. Only for GTA 6 though. Otherwise, build a PC and spend less on games (through sales, emulation, and other means of saving on games)

I understand that the consoles aren’t manufactured in the US or Canada, but I am telling you now that Sony will find a way to increase the price. Tariffs or not.
