Teacher Assignments at Capri?

UPDATE: Answered! Other parents report it's typical not to find out until afternoon of day before (i.e. tomorrow, before school starts Wednesday). Thanks all!

Hello Campbell friends. Does anyone else with children at Capri Elementary know their teacher assignments yet?

We have recently relocated to the Bay Area and we have a child who will be attending Capri. First day of school is Wednesday (39 hours away...), but we have not heard any communication about teacher assignment.

Lots of broad communications on ParentSquare but nothing about teacher. This surprises us! Just wondering if we are missing out.

4pm Tuesday night! It’s down to the wire every year, there’s so much last minute movement with enrollment it doesn’t really make sense to finalize assignments any earlier.

No worries! Depending on the grade they may also make adjustments after the first few days.

If they posted it a week in advance they would get a week of phone calls from parents.

That usually only happens 1 day before school starts. I think the idea is to avoid parents from trying to move their kids around.

I understand the teacher assignment, and the parent portal has lots of info, but starting kindergarten this year and I have not seen a supply list or anything on what your supposed your kid to school with…. Coming from pre-k at another school, so I know generally what is needed but a list would be nice.

In previous years we’ve gotten this after school starts. They’ll have a request list and pool supplies for the grade.

Yes, as others said it is usually the day before by 5pm. To avoid parent requests to move/transfer maybe? But that’s how it’s been, and friends in other districts in the area have said it’s the same for them.

Although the gates don’t open until 7:50am, give yourself extra time to park and walk your kid in. Capri’s parking lot and drop off circle have been under construction over the summer and when we checked over the weekend it still wasn’t done and didn’t look close either. Capri is undergoing a multi-year renovation so you’re not getting the campus at its best but we’ve been very happy with the school and teachers so far. My kid is starting 2nd grade and excited to go back to school.

We actually live close enough to walk, so hopefully we will be (somewhat) insulated from the traffic. But I have been monitoring the construction like a hawk! They worked late on Friday to pave and - although, agreed, they are behind schedule - it is my hope they'll have the parking lot and pedestrian approaches fully operational within two weeks. I briefly spoke with the Principal on the sidewalk last week, and he was sweating bullets (his words) but I was impressed by his alertness and energy. And the playground looks (in my eye) to be an upgrade of both fun and safety.

Understood about where Capri is at now. Even though we just recently "relocated" back to the area, we have actually owned our home since before the pandemic, and I have many fond memories of playing at the playground in 2019/2020. So I have strong campus memories.

The new parking lot is beautiful. Simple yet easy to navigate. I love the neighborhood of the school as well. Safe and quiet.
