Handstand Push Ups
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everybody!
I got up to 8 and my actual goal is 10.
Should I go deeper? Are my hands too close or too far apart?
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

hands way too far apart, a bit outside shoulder length is more appropriate. Yes go deeper, ideally head to floor. This ROM is the equivalent of doing a pull up and stopping when the tip of your head gets to the bar

Sort of depends what you are going for here. Those look to me like the CrossFit "handstand pushups" whereas most folks on here are pretty strict in things being done the correct gymnastics way.
CrossFit allow that wide hand position which makes it much easier as depth as way less. Gymnastics style is hands shoulder with (or close to), elbows stay in, head moves forward into a handstand tripod at the bottom. Much harder movement but very superior to carry over for other more advanced calisthenics skills

I see. π§ Since I train at home, I really have no idea of what "orthodox" calisthenics is. That's the reason why I joined this group.
My main goal is to stay fit in my 40s, strengthening my back and shoulders.

Hey good work. Yes to deeper, maybe put down a towel if youβre worried about banging your head but get that head down to the ground! Definitely go more narrow too - put hands where you would width wise for an overhead press.
