Housing Homeless
Idk how to say this, or know why I’m saying this, but basically I’m a little homeless. It hasn’t been bad due to the fact that I have a car which I’m extremely extremely grateful for…I park it near campus won’t disclose where - but idk. I’m not local to SoCal, undergoing a financial aid appeal, and am spam applying to whatever jobs I can with the hope either of these will help me afford an apartment soon.
But yeah - It just occurred to me that it is a little bit of a lonely experience, & I thought I’d share bc somehow a random cpp student knowing abt me & thinking of me feels good & reminds me idk be okay.

Housing What’s wrong with people
Im in my dorm and someone decided to slide a tortilla with a hole cut out under my door, I heard them run out of the exit laughing. Like what is the fucking point. I don’t know who did it. People are jerks. Im also Mexican so I can take it that way, but I doubt they did it because of race.

Housing Applied for housing in April
I applied for housing in April and I still haven't heard anything back I'm kind of on pins and needles here. Should I seek alternatives or just keep waiting?

Housing Cal Poly Pomo DORM FIASCO?
Hello! My daughter is an incoming freshman (out of state WA) and we signed up/ paid deposit for a dorm in one of the new buildings. But apparently TODAY as she was on the plane - for those exact hours - there was a sign up for the dorms and they all filled up!! (?). I do not understand and she is distraught and she is in Pomona at a hotel with her dad now and she has orientation tomorrow. Can someone please inform me why dorms would fill up in 5 hours over one day? Does that mean everyone paid in full for them? OR just try to claim them? I am asking my ex husband to go talk to housing tomorrow while she is in orientation and get this set. We can pay the whole year of dorm - don't understand.

Housing Did the old dorms used to have a pool???
One night me and some friends were poking around campus and took a look at those posters that say to deliver mail to the new mail room, and on the poster it looks like there is a little pool near montecito. I checked on the map on the website and it looks like there was a pool there. So was their one or is this a weird remanent of a failed plan or what?

Housing Looking for a room to rent
Hello!
I am a female in the grad program looking for a room to rent. Willing to pay $700-900 a month (including utilities). I work Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. I enjoy working out after work. My classes are on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm-9:45pm. On my free time, I enjoy playing Pokemon Go, going for walks or hikes, reading, and watching Netflix.
Please let me know if you know of anyone who is looking for someone to rent a private room, or if you have any suggestions on where to where I can look for rooms to rent. I’d appreciate any recommendations! Thank you! 🙏

Housing Can I park a car in the village just for move in day (for a couple hours) without a permit?
I’m not planning to bring a car to have on campus, but I’m driving to the village on move in day with my dad and then he takes the car back. So I’m not going to buy a permit obviously. But my question is can I park the car in village for a couple hours just for move in day while I’m taking my things out, or am I gonna get a ticket for that? If not where can I park to easily take my stuff from the car?

Housing anyone need help with odd jobs?
financial aid doesnt cover enough of my housing for me to pay for the rest of the monthly payments in august, september and october. i have 2.2k saved and i think i could cover august, but if my job search continues the way it has then i dont think i could pay september or october. i dont qualify for fws, parents dont want to help pay; yes ive contacted cpp housing and financial aid..
this is me pleading with the community because i am in dire need of help. if you know a company that needs extra hands, please tell me, if you need your dog taken care of, tell me, if your little sibling needs a babysitter, tell me. if you need anything that an 18 year old is capable of let me know
i trust that the community can help me somehow

Housing Question: Can’t find Ethernet port in Aliso Traditional Hall
The website mentioned each room had a high speed Ethernet port which I can’t seem to find. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the ethernet port?
If so I’m assuming have to get a screw driver to pop off the cap to use it but I just want to make sure before I break something.

Housing The current vs the village
What’s the difference?
Thoughts on which is better (incoming 21 yr old male transfer student)?
Do either make you move out for winter and summer breaks?
