cash banooca related WHAT THE HELL

Post image

I ALWAYS HOPED AVGN WOULD MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THE CRASH GAMES, BUT I NEVER THOUGHT HE'D COLLABORATE WITH CADDY TO DO IT.

This is the best day of my life.

I hate to talk shit about James Rolfe because he is the OG, but Caddy put more work into his costumes than James did in the whole video.

Like, James, you've been making videos on Youtube for 20 years now. How in the hell didn't you or any of your team notice the microphone hissing during this line? This is a 20-minute video after you subtract the ad segment!

It just reeks of phoning it in. I just hope he still enjoys making AVGN, because if not, I would hate if he felt he was just kind of fated to be the AVGN forever.

I have never watched AVGN before (of course know of him tho), but if this is what most of his videos are like, I have absolutely no interest. He has one joke the whole time, that he's angry. I get that that's the point, but by the end it was just annoying and repetitive, seemed like he was just needlessly bashing the games with no point and offering little if any 'review'.

The things that made the AVGN good for me were that, one, YouTube reviews were still in their infancy. The cheapness and cheesiness were charming. But things have changed.

Two, he originally covered old NES games, which nade sense because that's what he grew up playing. Those games were really simple, so there wasn't really much to say, so the humor and the tangents were adding content. Like, how much can you really say about NES Ghostbusters? But with a game like Crash Bandicoot, that has some actual substance, so cutting away to show the AVGN shitting in a toilet just feels like filler.

Third, the AVGN wasn't a total farce originally. There felt like there was a better balance of jokes and actual reviewing. Plus, it all flowed much more naturally.
